What you’ll do

  • Machine Operations: Operate and set up various machines including drill press, engine lathe, turret lathe, CNC lathe, and machining centers to produce precision parts such as volutes, shells, liners and impellers.

  • Daily tasks: include proving out setups, producing pilot workpieces for inspection, diagnosing machine or tooling malfunctions, and making corrective adjustments. Success means consistently producing high-quality parts with tight tolerances and maintaining efficient machine operation. 

  • Technical Understanding: Work from complex blueprints, part drawings, specifications, and setup instructions. Perform troubleshooting, minor CNC program edits, and efficiency improvements. The role involves manual milling and lathe machining with 200, 000-500,000 micrometers. 

  • Precision Handling: Manage multi-tooled arrangements with several operations requiring tight tolerances and critical dimensional relationships. Experience with assembly or casting is an asset. 

  • Tool Maintenance: Perform die sharpening, die and tool changeovers, and replacements to ensure smooth machine operation and quality output.

What you’ll bring 
Must-haves:

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • 1+ years of manual CNC machining experience with strong mill and lathe skills 

  • Experience in die sharpening and tool changeovers 

  • Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints and technical drawings 

Nice-to-haves:

  • Experience working with Fanuc controls 

  • Assembly or casting experience 

  • Familiarity with troubleshooting and minor CNC program edits
