Who we are looking for

The CMM Programmer is responsible for developing, validating, and maintaining CMM inspection programs using PC‑DMIS, while also performing broader Quality functions to support manufacturing, supplier quality, and continuous improvement. This role bridges metrology, inspection, and quality systems to ensure products meet customer, regulatory, and internal requirements.

  • Develop, debug, and optimize CMM inspection programs using PC‑DMIS for production, first article, and validation inspections
  • Interpret engineering drawings, CAD models, GD&T, and specifications to create accurate inspection routines
  • Perform CMM inspections, analyze results, and clearly communicate findings to engineering and production teams
  • Maintain and improve CMM programs to support process changes, tooling updates, and continuous improvement
  • Ensure proper fixturing, probe selection, and measurement strategy for repeatable and reliable results
  • Support CMM calibration, verification, and gauge R&R studies
  • Support APQP, PPAP, and First Article Inspection (FAI) activities
  • Conduct and participate in root cause analysis and corrective actions (8D, 5‑Why, Fishbone)
  • Analyze inspection and process data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement
  • Assist with development and maintenance of control plans, inspection plans, and work instructions
  • Support internal and external audits (ISO 9001 / AS9100 / IATF 16949, as applicable)
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Supply Chain to resolve quality issues
  • Support supplier quality activities, including inspection, corrective actions, and performance monitoring
  • Prepare clear, concise inspection reports and quality documentation
  • Communicate inspection results and quality concerns effectively to multi-functional teams
  • Maintain accurate records in accordance with company procedures and quality standards
  • Perform other duties as necessary.
What you bring to the Team
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or a related technical field or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of hands-on CMM programming experiencing using PC-DMIS
  • Strong understanding of GD&T (ASME Y14.5)
  • Experience with precision measurement and metrology principles.
  • Working knowledge of quality tools and methodologies.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and CAD models.
  • Preferred but not required: experience in manufacturing environments for aerospace, automotive, medical, or precision machining, experience with PPAP, APQP, FMEA, SPC, and MSA, familiarity with metrology tools (optical comparators, vision systems, laser scanners), and experience with ISO 9001, AS9100, or IATF 16949 quality systems.
