Position Title: ServiceNow CMDB Manager

Your role
The ServiceNow CMDB Manager is responsible for the architecture, integrity, and ongoing maturity of the CMDB within our ServiceNow platform. This role ensures that configuration data is accurate, complete, and aligned with the needs of our datacenter operations, infrastructure teams, and service delivery functions.
You will lead CMDB governance, drive integration with Microsoft‑centric systems, and partner with cross‑functional teams to ensure the CMDB is a trusted source of truth for ITSM, ITOM, Asset Management, and operational decision‑making.
What you’ll do
CMDB Ownership & Governance
- Lead the end‑to‑end management of the ServiceNow CMDB, ensuring data accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
- Develop and maintain CMDB governance frameworks, including CI class models, naming conventions, relationship mapping, and lifecycle processes.
- Conduct CMDB maturity assessments and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Establish and monitor CMDB KPIs, dashboards, and data quality metrics.
Technical Leadership
- Manage ServiceNow Discovery, MID Servers, and Service Graph Connectors across datacenter and cloud environments.
- Oversee integrations with Microsoft‑centric systems including Intune, Azure AD/Entra ID, VMWare, Microsoft Defender, Sentinel, and monitoring tools.
- Ensure CMDB alignment with ITOM modules such as Event Management, Service Mapping, and Health & Compliance.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to maintain accurate CI data for servers, network devices, storage, cloud resources, and datacenter infrastructure.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Infrastructure, Cloud, Security, and Application teams to ensure CMDB data supports operational and business needs.
- Work closely with Change Management to ensure CI relationships and dependencies are accurately reflected.
- Support audits, compliance reviews, and risk assessments related to configuration data.
- Serve as the CMDB subject‑matter expert for internal stakeholders and leadership.
What you’ll need
Required Qualifications
- Extensive hands‑on experience managing the ServiceNow CMDB in a large enterprise environment.
- Strong understanding of CI class modeling, identification and reconciliation rules, discovery patterns, and MID Server architecture.
- Experience with Service Graph Connectors and API integrations.
- Deep knowledge of Microsoft technologies including Azure, Windows Server, Active Directory/Entra ID, and PowerShell.
- Strong understanding of ITIL v4 practices such as Configuration Management, Change Enablement, and Asset Management.
- Experience supporting hybrid cloud and on‑prem datacenter environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in datacenter operations or large‑scale infrastructure environments.
- Background implementing ServiceNow ITOM Visibility or Service Mapping.
- Experience leading CMDB cleanup, modernization, or transformation initiatives.
Soft Skills
- Effective communication skills with the ability to influence technical and non‑technical teams.
- Strong analytical mindset with a passion for data accuracy and process improvement.
- Ability to lead cross‑functional initiatives and manage competing priorities.
- Comfortable presenting CMDB health, risks, and roadmap updates to leadership.
Education & Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- ServiceNow certifications such as:
- CIS – CMDB
- CIS – Discovery
- ServiceNow System Administrator (CSA)
- ITIL v4 Foundation or higher.
- Microsoft certifications (Azure Administrator, Azure Architect, or equivalent) are a plus.

Compensation Range
Compensation range: 120K to 160K
