The Position:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Cloud Support Specialist to join our growing Cloud Operations team. In this role, you will assist in providing technical support for our cloud infrastructure and help customers resolve cloud-related issues. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with cloud and a strong desire to learn and grow in the field. This is a hybrid position based out of San Diego, CA. For the ideal candidate, we may consider a remote location.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Production Support: Respond to and resolve basic cloud support tickets and customer inquiries. Monitor cloud infrastructure performance and availability. Assist in troubleshooting cloud service issues and escalate complex problems when necessary. Involvement in on-call rotation for critical systems support and scheduled maintenance windows. Participation in routine maintenance tasks and backup operations. Monitor system alerts and respond to potential issues.
  • Policies & Procedures Management: Support basic cloud security protocols and compliance requirements. Collaborate with senior team members on larger projects and implementations. Follow change management procedures. Implement standard operating procedures. Maintain security and access control protocols.
  • Documentation Management: Maintain documentation for cloud services and support procedures. Assist in creating and updating knowledge base articles. Document incident resolutions and troubleshooting steps. Create and update user guides. Maintain system configuration documentation.

Who You Are:

  • 4-5 years of experience in Cloud Technology Technical Support or related field
  • Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS)
  • Experience with infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation) and CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience with Linux and Windows operating systems
  • Familiarity with Python or other scripting languages
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • AWS certifications (Solutions Architect, SysOps Administrator)
  • Experience in the healthcare or biotechnology industry, specifically in diagnostics or medical devices, is highly desirable

The final salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and length of experience within the job, type and length of experience within the industry, education, etc. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units. Veracyte is a multi-state employer, and this salary range may not reflect positions that work in other states.
