As we continue to grow at ScreenPoint Medical, we are looking for a hands-on Staff Engineer, Cloud to strengthen the reliability, security, and scalability of our cloud platform.
In this senior individual contributor role, you will help bring our AI solutions into clinical practice by building and operating secure, resilient cloud infrastructure. You will work closely with our Architect on cloud direction, while taking ownership of technical execution across infrastructure-as-code, observability, security, and operational excellence.
You will report to the VP of Engineering and collaborate with engineering, product, architecture, security, quality, and compliance stakeholders.
Key responsibilities
- Build and operate cloud infrastructure across compute, networking, storage, containers, and high-availability environments.
- Drive infrastructure-as-code adoption using Terraform or similar tooling.
- Improve reliability through monitoring, logging, alerting, incident response, and capacity planning.
- Strengthen cloud security, including access control, hardening, data residency, and compliance execution.
- Turn architectural, business, and regulatory requirements into scalable cloud solutions.
- Lead cross-team cloud initiatives through technical expertise and hands-on execution.
- Mentor engineers on cloud engineering, observability, security, and operational best practices.
- Support compliance with our Quality Management System and applicable standards, including ISO 27001 and IEC 62304 where relevant.
Job requirements
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, GCP, or a comparable cloud platform.
- Deep knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, Linux, and distributed systems.
- Experience with Terraform or comparable infrastructure-as-code tooling.
- Proficiency in Python and/or Go.
- Strong knowledge of CI/CD, cloud security, secure software development, and operational reliability.
- A track record of solving complex scaling and infrastructure challenges.
- The ability to influence across teams without formal authority.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience with regulated software, healthcare, or medical device products.
- Familiarity with ISO 27001, IEC 62304, GDPR, data residency, or validated systems.
- Experience with multi-region architecture, disaster recovery, or cloud cost optimization.
- Experience supporting AI or machine learning workloads in production.
Experience in healthcare or medical devices is a plus, not a requirement. We are looking for a technically strong engineer who can apply their expertise in a regulated environment and learn the domain quickly.
