Mission:
The Solutions Architect specialized in technology presales is responsible for designing and proposing technical solutions using the full Google technology stack, including Google Cloud, Google Workspace, and other Google tools and services, or even with Azure and AWS. This professional works closely with sales teams, potential clients, and other stakeholders to understand technical and business requirements and to create solutions that add value and meet client expectations.
Responsibilities
AWS Architecture Design:
- Develop and implement AWS-based solutions, ensuring they are scalable, secure, and aligned with client requirements.
- Utilize a variety of AWS services, including EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, CloudFront, VPC, Route 53, IAM, and CloudFormation to build robust cloud architectures.
- Apply clean architecture principles, microservices, and design for high availability and distributed systems.
Security and Compliance:
- Design secure architectures leveraging AWS WAF, AWS Shield, AWS Key Management Service (KMS), and IAM.
- Ensure that solutions comply with industry security standards and best practices.
Cost Analysis and Optimization:
- Conduct cost analysis and design solutions that optimize resource usage on AWS.
- Use AWS Cost Explorer and AWS Trusted Advisor to monitor and recommend cost-saving opportunities without compromising performance.
Technical Communication and Pre-Sales Support:
- Engage in client meetings to explain AWS solutions and technical designs in a clear, accessible manner.
- Conduct demos and presentations of proposed architectures, supporting sales teams by addressing technical questions and requirements.
Automation and DevOps:
- Implement CI/CD pipelines using AWS CodePipeline, CodeBuild, and CodeDeploy.
- Employ Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using AWS CloudFormation or Terraform to automate deployment and configuration management.
Optional Data Engineering and Machine Learning Knowledge:
- Work with data analytics services such as Amazon Athena, Redshift, or QuickSight, and machine learning tools like Amazon SageMaker, based on client requirements.
Certifications (Optional):
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional (preferred) or AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate (required).
Experience:
- 3 to 5 years of experience in AWS architecture design and cloud infrastructure.
- Strong expertise in AWS services, including EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, CloudFront, VPC, IAM, and CloudFormation.
- Experience in clean architecture, microservices, and designing highly available, distributed applications.
Technical Skills:
- Proficient in AWS security tools, including AWS WAF, Shield, KMS, and IAM.
- Familiar with AWS Cost Explorer and Trusted Advisor for cost management.
- Skilled in CI/CD tools like AWS CodePipeline, CodeBuild, CodeDeploy, and IaC using CloudFormation or Terraform.
- Knowledge in data engineering or machine learning using AWS (optional but a plus).
Soft Skills:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong presentation skills with the ability to conduct demos and architectural walkthroughs.
