Position Summary
Effectual is seeking an experienced Cloud Procurement Specialist to support a civilian government customer. In this role, you will negotiate cloud service agreements, manage vendor relationships, and oversee contract lifecycle activities to ensure favorable terms and compliance. The ideal candidate brings 7+ years of experience in cloud services negotiations and contract management, along with an active cloud certification from any major provider.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Negotiate cloud service agreements, terms, and discounts with cloud vendors
- Manage vendor relationships and serve as a primary point of contact for cloud service providers
- Draft, review, and manage cloud service contracts to ensure compliance and favorable terms
- Monitor and manage cloud procurement activities to support contract operations and cost objectives
- Collaborate with FinOps and engineering teams to align procurement strategies with cloud financial goals
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field (highly desirable); substitution of 6 years of on-the-job experience accepted in lieu of degree
- Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in cloud services negotiations, cloud terms and agreements, and discounts with cloud vendors
- Experience managing vendor relationships, drafting, reviewing, and managing contracts
- Active cloud certification required (any major cloud provider)
Nice-to-Have Skills and Experience
- Advanced cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Google Professional Cloud Architect, Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect)
- Experience with GSA or federal government procurement processes
