A Cloud Engineer assists in the successful design and build of our core cloud platforms, ensuring ASDA Cloud infrastructure and applications run reliably, and perform as our customers expect.

This role is part of an established cloud team and will provide the opportunity to shape ways of working within the team. A Cloud engineer is responsible for design, build, update and support of the cloud platform utilized within Asda. Working closely with the cloud platform Senior manager, fellow Engineers and associates to improve and create a stable cloud platform for Asda applications and support teams to utilise

Your Role

• Working with on and offshore development and technology teams to create, build, maintain and manage Asda’s Cloud Platform
• Design and building DevOps pipelines, processes and technology
• Optimising our cloud environments, looking for ways to maximise cost and performance efficiencies.
• Cloud onboarding. Ensuring all cloud deployments meet ASDA's architectural and operating standards
• Improve and maintain cloud accelerators and IAC modules.
• Help design and support landing zones within our cloud estate
• Working with Architecture teams to design and build infrastructure to support application deployments.

About You

• At least 3 years' hands on experience with Microsoft Azure Stack
• Experience of CI/CD tooling and configuration management tools and processes. (Azure DevOps, Terraform, YAML, PowerShell, ARM Templates).
• Understanding of Cloud native monitoring, alerting, and telemetry technologies for applications and infrastructure.
• Demonstrate exceptional problem-solving skills, with an ability to see and solve issues before they affect business productivity.
• Troubleshoot incidents, identify root causes, fix and document problems, and implement preventive measures
• A keen desire to learn and develop in a dynamic environment and make the role your own.
• Experience in several of the following areas: Integration, cloud networking, cloud security, Monitoring & Alerting, Landing Zones, Web Services (API, Rest)
• Ideally Relevant cloud certifications (Azure, Terraform, etc)
