Torch Technologies is seeking a Cloud Engineer to join a team supporting cloud infrastructure design, deployment, and on‑prem virtual machine provisioning. This position supports the USSPACECOM J6 Division.
As a Cloud Engineer, your duties will include the following, but are not limited to:
Design, implement, and maintain cloud infrastructure and on‑prem VM provisioning.
Collaborate with software engineers, architects, and cross‑functional teams to ensure scalability, security, and efficiency.
Evaluate and recommend cloud service providers (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, IBM Cloud, Oracle).
Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible.
Manage and configure cloud resources and Nutanix hypervisor environments (VMs, containers, databases, networking).
Implement monitoring, alerting, and logging solutions.
Troubleshoot incidents, identify performance bottlenecks, and optimize system resources.
Apply security best practices and ensure compliance with applicable standards.
Conduct regular security assessments and vulnerability scans.
Support automation and CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or CircleCI.
Document architecture designs, deployment processes, and troubleshooting guides.
Collaborate with development teams to align cloud architecture with application requirements.
Required Qualifications
U.S. Citizenship
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent work experience)
2+ years of related experience.
Secret level DOW clearance with ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI
Proven experience designing, implementing, and managing cloud solutions across AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, IBM Cloud, or Oracle
Experience supporting both Windows and Linux environments
Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Ansible
Strong understanding of networking principles, security practices, and cloud architecture patterns
Experience with containerization/orchestration platforms (Docker, Kubernetes)
Experience with Microsoft Config Manager, Red Hat, Red Hat Satellite, SQL Server, Windows 11, Windows Server OS
Familiarity with Elastic, ACAS, ePO (HBSS)
Excellent scripting/programming skills (Python, Bash, PowerShell)
DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (e.g., CompTIA Security+)
Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex issues
Effective communication and collaboration skills
Preferred Qualifications
TS/SCI level DOW clearance
Relevant cloud certifications (AWS Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect, etc.)
Experience developing automated deployment pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, CircleCI)
Experience with compliance frameworks (GDPR, HIPAA, PCI DSS)

Salary range: $110,000-$140,000
