Organisational Impact
You will contribute to scalable, reliable cloud operations, directly supporting customer satisfaction and cost efficiency. Your work ensures platforms can focus on innovation while Infra maintains operational excellence.
Technical Expertise
The ideal candidate will have recent, hands-on experience with public cloud platforms such as AWS or Google Cloud Platform, and a working knowledge of container orchestration technologies like Kubernetes, Amazon EKS, Tanzu Kubernetes, and Docker. Familiarity with infrastructure as code using Terraform, CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins, and essential DevOps tools such as Git and Artifactory is important. Exposure to monitoring solutions (Nagios, Thruk, prometheus), databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL), and collaboration tools (Atlassian stack including Jira, Confluence, and Bitbucket) is valued. While not required, any experience with private cloud or on-premises technologies - such as VMware, basic virtualization, server and storage infrastructure, or Linux-based virtual servers - will be considered an advantage.
Key Responsibilities
Implement and maintain AWS account security boundaries and governance policies.
Write, modify, and maintain Terraform resource definitions and manage state files.
Troubleshoot hybrid networking scenarios, including Site-to-Site VPNs and Direct Connect integrations.
Configure core VPC components (subnets, route tables, security groups) to support application availability.
Execute day-to-day infrastructure operations with a focus on stability, root cause analysis, and lasting fixes.
Support and maintain Amazon EKS clusters, including node management and troubleshooting pod connectivity.
Write and modify scripts in Bash or Python to automate operational tasks and system maintenance.
Additional Skills & Beneficial Experience
Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services and console navigation.
Exposure to on-premises virtualisation technologies such as vSphere/vCenter or Red Hat OpenShift.
Prior experience working with bare metal environments is considered a bonus.
Professional Attributes
Strong security awareness and willingness to learn compliance practices.
Reliable and detail-oriented.
Ability to adapt and perform in a fast-paced environment.
Collaborative and proactive in problem-solving.
Interest in improving personal efficiency and workflows.
General technical curiosity and capability to find necessary information independently.
Personal interest in engineering projects or home labs is considered an advantage.
Career Development
Progression is achievable through demonstrated capability and consistent delivery of results over time. Opportunities exist to advance to Senior Cloud Engineer and, eventually, Architect roles, provided you show technical growth and operational reliability.
