About the role

As a Cloud Engineer at BASE life science, you will be a crucial part of ensuring our projects are operationally viable. You will take part in designing, implementing, and maintaining infrastructure in both internal and external projects. In addition, you will bring your DevOps expertise and knowledge to projects, providing valuable insights and strategies to optimize processes and ensure the highest level of operational efficiency. Your expertise will be instrumental in driving the success of our projects and achieving our organizational goals. This role is offered at a consultant or senior consultant level.

As a Cloud Engineer your responsibilities include:

• Be part of a multidisciplinary team designing, implementing and maintaining CI/CD and cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code.
• Troubleshooting and resolving infrastructure related issues with the development and delivery team(s).
• Analyse cloud services, detect different strengths and limitations, comparing the services to define which is the best strategy for processing data as well as staying updated with the latest trends and best practices in cloud technologies and architectures.
• Implement and oversee data security measures, ensuring compliance with data protection regulations in highly regulated environment.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
• Implementing and refining DevOps practices across projects.
• Collaborate with the sales team to create proof of concepts (PoCs) and demonstrate technical feasibility of proposed solutions.
• Design and implement robust, scalable solutions for our clients in the pharmaceutical industry, leveraging cloud technologies with the harmony of AI.

On top of this, you have the following competences:

• Strong ability to adapt quickly to customer custom infrastructure and contribute effectively to their specific needs and challenges.
• At least 4 years of experience working with DevOps practices and Cloud Infrastructure (IaC, GitOps, CI / CD, etc.).
• Deep knowledge of at least 1 major cloud providers (Azure, AWS, GCP). Azure is a high plus but solid knowledge of AWS and/or GCP are also considered.
• CI / CD platforms (Azure DevOps / GitHub Actions).
• Experience with infrastructure as code tools (e.g., Terraform).
• Experience with API design and integration to support data sharing across platforms.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Strong ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders simultaneously.
• Experience in agile methodologies and project delivery frameworks.
• Strong programming and scripting skills (e.g. Powershell or bash).

It will be a plus if you have these additional capabilities:

• Experience working with DevSecOps.
• Experience with Azure OpenAI resources.
• Experience with life science specific upstream source systems e.g. Veeva.
• Proven experience in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry.
• Knowledge of containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) for application deployment.
