About the job

As a Cloud Architect, you'll join our dedicated Cloud team, which is tasked with building, optimizing, and maintaining cloud solutions. You’ll take ownership of our virtual environments, ensuring smooth deployment, maintenance, and lifecycle management.

The Cloud team is responsible for setting up and continuously evolving our architecture and the processes that go with it. You will be working in our team of Cloud engineers and be responsible for all aspects of running our virtual environments, from deployments all the way up to maintenance and lifecycle management. Our SRE and NOC teams work closely with our Cloud team to maintain day-to-day operations.

Our Engineering team consists of all our technical operations, spanning everything from NOC to Business IT, and all the way to our Infrastructure teams. Together we take care of all the daily operations of installing, maintaining and lifecycle managing our production as well as our internal environments. Our work method is based on using proven setups in the Atlassian software suite, and enhanced by the Kanban methodology for projects. We are proud of our ISO27001 (Information Security) accreditation.

Responsibilities as a Cloud Architect

• Design, implement, and optimize cloud infrastructure solutions, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security.
• Lead and oversee the architecture of virtualized environments, leveraging tools such as VMware vSphere, Cloud Director, NSX, and vSAN.
• Define and manage cloud infrastructure standards, including networking and storage strategies.
• Collaborate with other teams to ensure smooth deployment and integration of cloud solutions into production environments.
• Guide the automation of cloud infrastructure provisioning, monitoring, and management through best practices and tools.
• Drive improvements in operational efficiency by leading cloud optimization efforts and eliminating bottlenecks.
• Maintain cloud security posture and ensure compliance with best practices, including ISO27001 requirements.
• Provide leadership and mentorship to other engineers in the Engineering team.
• Engage with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to understand cloud requirements and ensure alignment with business goals.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex cloud-related issues, both proactively and reactively, minimizing downtime and improving operational reliability.
• Ensure thorough documentation of cloud architecture and processes for internal stakeholders and compliance purposes.

• VMware vSphere
• VMware Cloud Director
• VMware NSX
• VMware vSAN
• Veeam
• Proxmox

We want you to

• Have 5+ years of experience from working with VMware infrastructure products
• Have a good understanding of networking principals
• Have a good working experience from enterprise backup products
• Be comfortable in having direct customer interaction
• Adhere to best practice in everything you do
• Have a problem solving and can-do attitude
• Have a challenger attitude, to drive and implement change within your area of expertise
• Be used to working according to ITIL processes
