Simple Technology Solutions is looking for a Cloud AI Engineer to add to our team.

Quick Position Overview:

  • Remote, with periodic travel to the Washington, DC Metro Area

The Role:


The Cloud AI Engineer will play a central role in designing, developing, and optimizing AI-enabled business applications built on major cloud platforms. This position combines cloud architecture, GenAI model integration, and Agile delivery to create intelligent business solutions that leverage services such as translation, transcription, and computer vision.

The ideal candidate brings technical excellence, problem-solving agility, and the ability to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team focused on delivering secure, scalable, and responsible AI solutions.

The Senior Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) at STS will:


Architect and implement enterprise GenAI solutions using cloud services:
• Build business applications leveraging cloud-managed AI services (GenAI models, translation, transcription, computer vision, etc.)
• Deploy and manage GenAI models in cloud environments
• Perform prompt engineering, optimization, and performance monitoring
• Develop Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) for GenAI and AI service workloads
• Integrate AI services into business applications and enterprise systems

Design and implement effective Agile practices for GenAI development:
• Contribute to GenAI project roadmap planning using epics
• Participate in quarterly planning for AI-enabled business applications, including feature elaboration and sequencing
• Support sprint planning, backlog refinement, and workload balancing
• Lead AI application reviews, retrospectives, and demonstrations

Implement GenAI application monitoring and optimization:
• Monitor GenAI model performance, response quality, and cost metrics
• Implement automated alerting for cloud-managed AI service health and performance
• Conduct performance analysis of AI-enabled business applications and apply optimizations
• Manage AI service costs and usage patterns across translation, transcription, and vision workloads

Collaborate on GenAI architecture and business application design:
• Work with development teams to design scalable, reliable AI-enabled business solutions
• Establish and maintain GenAI governance frameworks and responsible AI practices
• Respond to and resolve GenAI service incidents and user requests
• Lead continuous improvement of AI-enabled business application development processes

Ensure compliance with GenAI and cloud security standards:
• Apply the NIST AI Risk Management Framework for GenAI applications
• Follow AWS AI/ML Security Best Practices for cloud-managed services
• Implement Azure Responsible AI principles for business applications
• Ensure adherence to data privacy and protection standards for AI-enabled workloads

Utilize enterprise tools for GenAI project management:
• Work with Atlassian Jira, Confluence, and OpsGenie for AI project tracking and incident resolution
• Manage GenAI development workflows, documentation, and application records

Build and optimize AI-enabled business applications:
• Design and deliver AI-enabled business features using cloud-managed AI services
• Troubleshoot and resolve GenAI service integration issues
• Contribute to planning and implementation of new AI features that enhance user effectiveness

Problem-Solving:
• Handle GenAI-related technical challenges and integration issues independently
• Apply strong analytical skills for AI performance tuning and cost optimization
• Perform effectively under pressure during AI service incidents
• Drive continuous improvement across AI-enabled business application development processes

Teamwork and Communication:
• Collaborate effectively with business users, developers, and technical stakeholders
• Mentor team members on cloud GenAI best practices and AI service utilization
• Communicate GenAI concepts and business value to non-technical stakeholders
• Maintain strong written and verbal communication skills for diverse technical audiences


Education and Experience:

Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or related field
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience with cloud services (AWS, Azure, or equivalent)
    • Proficiency in cloud architecture and automation (Python, PowerShell, Bash)
    • Experience building and optimizing AI-enabled applications using cloud-managed services
    • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and collaboration skills
    • Ability to work during AAD team hours of operation: 8 AM – 6 PM ET, Weekdays (excluding U.S. Federal Holidays)
    • Ability to pass a U.S. Federal Government Public Trust background check

Preferred
• Hands-on experience with AWS Bedrock, Azure OpenAI, and other GenAI cloud services
• Familiarity with prompt engineering, foundation model deployment, and GenAI integration patterns
• Experience with Agile/Scrum tools and team ceremonies (Jira, Confluence)
• Knowledge of NIST AI RMF and Responsible AI governance frameworks
• Interest in emerging AI development paradigms such as “AI-enabled vibe coding”

• Scrum Alliance – Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO)
• PMI – Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP)
