An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Clinical Skills & Education Facilitator to join HealthHero Integrated Care on a 12-hour per month basis. This role will support the development, delivery and continuous improvement of clinical skills education across our services.

This is a key role within our clinical education and workforce development provision, supporting safe, effective and high-quality patient care by ensuring clinicians have the knowledge, skills and confidence required to deliver care across a variety of settings. The role will also act as a bridge between clinical, operational and governance teams, helping to promote a culture of learning, quality improvement and patient safety.

About the role

As Clinical Skills & Education Facilitator, you will be responsible for designing, delivering, evaluating and improving clinical skills training programmes aligned to organisational priorities, service requirements and best practice.

The role will involve supporting clinicians across a range of practitioner groups through teaching, coaching, mentorship, supervision and competency assessment. You will help identify learning needs through audit findings, incident trends, feedback, governance themes and service developments, ensuring education is targeted, relevant and responsive to operational and clinical priorities.

Your day-to-day duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Designing, delivering and evaluating clinical skills training programmes aligned to service requirements and organisational priorities.
  • Facilitating and assessing clinical competencies across a range of practitioner groups.
  • Delivering Basic Life Support training, including adult, child, neonatal and paediatric BLS.
  • Providing education on choking management, RESPECT documentation, DNAR processes, end-of-life care and prescribing principles.
  • Delivering practical clinical skills training, including venepuncture, catheterisation, ECG acquisition and interpretation, T34 syringe pump management and venous access devices.
  • Facilitating pathology and diagnostic education sessions.
  • Leading case-based learning, reflective practice sessions and clinical reasoning discussions.
  • Supporting induction, onboarding and capability development of new clinical staff.
  • Developing training resources, educational materials and competency frameworks.
  • Maintaining and overseeing clinical skills equipment, training resources, clinical skills boxes and equipment inventories.
  • Supporting the implementation of new equipment training and associated competency assessments.
  • Promoting collaborative working across clinical, operational and governance teams.
  • Contributing to education-led quality improvement, clinical governance and service improvement initiatives.

About you

You will be a registered healthcare professional, such as an Advanced Clinical Practitioner, Enhanced Clinical Practitioner, Nurse or Paramedic, with significant clinical experience in urgent, primary, community or integrated care settings.

You will be confident delivering education, training or competency assessment, with excellent communication, presentation and facilitation skills. You will also have a strong understanding of clinical governance, patient safety and quality improvement, and be able to work effectively across multi-disciplinary teams.

  • Current registration as a healthcare professional.
  • Significant clinical experience in urgent, primary, community or integrated care.
  • Experience delivering education, training or competency assessment.
  • Strong communication, presentation and facilitation skills.
  • A sound understanding of clinical governance, patient safety and quality improvement.
  • The ability to build effective working relationships across clinical and non-clinical teams.
  • A proactive, supportive and improvement-focused approach to workforce development.

It would also be desirable if you have:

  • A formal teaching or education qualification.
  • Experience developing competency frameworks or educational programmes.
  • Experience supporting service improvement or workforce development projects.
  • Experience managing clinical equipment and training resources.

Skills Required
