About Sonio

Each year, 140M children are born. Birth defects affect 1 in 33 births in developed countries, and in 50% of cases, they are not detected during prenatal examinations. Prenatal medicine is particularly complex, and the scans impose heavy responsibilities on healthcare professionals. They can also be a source of stress for future parents.

Resulting from 5 years of collaboration between world-renowned experts from Necker Hospital and Ecole Polytechnique, Sonio uses artificial intelligence to improve prenatal screening and diagnosis. Based on patented algorithms and a proprietary expert database, Sonio aims to become the reference tool to help practitioners improve screening, reduce diagnostic errors, and optimize pregnant women’s medical path.

Sonio's mission is to improve women's and children's health by promoting access and quality of care through technological innovation, medical expertise, and collective intelligence.

About the role:

Are you passionate about women's and fetal medicine? Join our clinical team for an internship that combines fieldwork, project coordination, and institutional partnerships — at the intersection of clinical research and AI.

You will work closely with our Clinical Team and Data Team to support the development and validation of our AI solutions for fetal and maternal health, with direct exposure to real-world clinical data collection across partner institutions in France and Europe.

Your missions:

  • Travel on-site to university hospitals and private practices to support and execute data collection sessions

  • Coordinate the de-identification and anonymization of DICOM imaging data in compliance with applicable regulations

  • Support the preparation and submission of IRB / ethics committee applications and amendments, and help maintain regulatory documentation

  • Assist in discussions with institutions interested in data collection partnerships — from initial outreach to protocol agreement

  • Contribute to the drafting and improvement of data collection SOPs and protocols

  • Maintain accurate tracking of data collection progress, site status, and regulatory timelines

  • Liaise between clinical partners, the Data Engineering Team, and the Clinical Team to ensure smooth execution

This role is both operational and strategic — it requires strong project management skills, comfort in clinical environments, and the ability to navigate institutional stakeholders.

About you:

Sonio is a mission-driven company, so a genuine interest in our mission — improving fetal and maternal health through AI — is essential. Beyond that, we're looking for someone who:

  • Is completing an M2 in business, public health, biomedical engineering, health management, or a related field

  • Has already had several internships, ideally in the health/research sector

  • Is comfortable engaging directly with medical providers and going on site to clinical environments

  • Has an interest in clinical research processes, including IRB submissions and data governance

  • Is organized, rigorous, and able to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously

  • Is fluent in both French and English — additional European languages are a plus

Why join us

You will have real ownership of operational deliverables from day one, travel to clinical partner sites across Europe & USA, and contribute directly to building the datasets that train and validate Sonio's AI models. You will gain hands-on experience in clinical research coordination, institutional partnership management, and medical data governance.

Location: Paris, with regular travel in France and Europe
