Job Description

The Clinical Pharmacist is responsible for providing comprehensive pharmaceutical care through the review, verification, and dispensing of medications while ensuring accuracy, safety, and compliance with regulatory standards. This role collaborates closely with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary care teams to optimize medication therapy, monitor patient outcomes, and provide evidence-based clinical recommendations. The Clinical Pharmacist educates patients and healthcare staff on medication use, promotes medication safety initiatives, participates in quality improvement efforts, and serves as a trusted medication expert to support exceptional patient care. Additionally, the pharmacist contributes to operational efficiency, regulatory readiness, and the continuous advancement of pharmacy services across MUSC Health Orangeburg. Additional Job Description

Education: Doctor of Pharmacy or a Bachelor's degree in pharmacy. Completion of a pharmacy residency preferred.

Credentials: Licensed as a Registered Pharmacist by the South Carolina Board of Pharmacy. Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is required

Ability to maintain 20/40 vision, corrected, in one eye or with both eyes. (Continuous) Ability to see and recognize objects close at hand or at a distance. (Continuous) Ability to match or discriminate between colors. (Continuous) Ability to determine distance/relationship between objects; depth perception.
