GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES: United Digestive’s Clinical pharmacist will assist the Director of Ancillary Services and Pharmacy Operations Manager to facilitate smooth and efficient pharmacy operations. (S)he interprets physicians' prescriptions and dispenses medications, including high dollar specialty medications within regulatory, accreditation, and policy guidelines.

- Responsible for the compliance, operations, and financial performance of the UD Pharmacy when the Pharmacist in Charge (Pharmacy Operations Manager) is not in the pharmacy
- Adheres to all pharmacy, state and federal laws and regulations
- Will be designated as the Pharmacist in Charge for the facility when the Pharmacist in Charge is not onsite
- Manages dispensing, clinical review, patient care, and provider communication
- Meticulously manages drug therapies to identify, prevent and resolve medication-related problems (e.g. Counsels patients and/or medical staff and handles problem resolution)
- Completes patient records, initial assessments, medication profiles, initial fill notes and continuing progress notes
- Documents any and all interactions with patients and prescribers in the appropriate systems in compliance with protocol
- Participates in the coordination of care to meet patient outcomes and goals including, initial referral, medication review and selection, assessment of medication delivery system, patient care plans, compliance programs, and discharge of patients from services
- Supervises technician staff in partnership with the Pharmacy Operations Manager
- Reviews work of technical staff and provides relevant clinical coaching
- Performs On-Call activities as required
- Applies practical knowledge of job area typically obtained through advanced education, specialty pharmacy certification, or work experience
- Performs all other duties as assigned
REQUIRED EDUCATION, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
PharmD degree or Bachelor of Science Degree in Pharmacy; minimum 3 years of Pharmacy experience or 1-2 years of Specialty Pharmacy experience is preferred. Retail and specialty experience preferred. Valid pharmacy licensure in the State of Georgia required.
