Purpose & Scope: 

The Clinical Operations Specialist I provides comprehensive administrative support within a centralized Clinical Operations Pool, partnering closely with providers and interdisciplinary care teams to deliver efficient, high-quality, patient-centered care. This role serves as a key liaison between patients and clinical staff, ensuring clear, professional communication while supporting seamless coordination of care.

Responsibilities include managing patient interactions through phone, secure messaging, and electronic health record (EHR) systems; facilitating appointment scheduling; and supporting core workflows through accurate documentation and message management. The Clinical Operations Specialist I contributes to operational efficiency by coordinating essential processes such as insurance verification, effective hand-off for medication refill requests, prior authorizations, and durable medical equipment (DME) orders.

Additionally, the role supports the integrity and flow of medical information by maintaining organized patient records and ensuring timely routing of messages and requests to appropriate providers and team members.

Working collaboratively with Practice Managers, Clinical Coordinators, and clinical staff, the Clinical Operations Specialist I delivers flexible support across care settings to promote continuity, access, and an exceptional patient experience.

Education: 

High school diploma or equivalent required.


Experience: 

Two years of hospital or medical clinic experience with exposure to medical terminology, customer service and proficiency in EHR platforms is required.
