Job Summary:

The Clinical Operations Data Analyst supports organizational decision-making by analyzing clinical, operational, and financial data. This position develops reports and dashboards, identifies performance trends, validates data accuracy, and provides actionable insights to improve patient access, clinical quality, provider productivity, operational efficiency, and financial performance.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Design, build, test, deploy, schedule, and maintain Epic reports, dashboards, extracts, and analytical content using applicable Cogito tools, such as Reporting Workbench, Radar, SlicerDicer, Clarity, and Caboodle.
  • Combine Epic data with other approved organizational data sources, including clinical, operational, financial, payer, grant, and workforce data, to support accurate reporting, analysis, and decision-making.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and reports related to encounter volume, patient access, scheduling, cancellations, no-shows, provider productivity, clinical quality, and financial performance.
  • Analyze performance by clinic, service line, provider, payer, patient population, and appointment type.
  • Monitor results against budgets, productivity expectations, quality goals, and organizational benchmarks.
  • Identify trends, performance gaps, operational risks, and improvement opportunities.
  • Support provider capacity, staffing, scheduling, and clinical FTE analysis.
  • Assist with quality reporting, including UDS, population health, care gaps, value-based care, and grant requirements.
  • Validate data from the electronic health record and other systems to ensure reports are accurate and consistent.
  • Develop standardized metric definitions, calculation methods, and reporting documentation.
  • Prepare recurring and ad hoc analyses for leadership, committees, and the Board of Directors.
  • Partner with clinical, operational, quality, finance, and information technology teams to support performance improvement initiatives.
  • Present findings in a clear and actionable format for technical and nontechnical audiences.
  • Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA, data security, and organizational policies.



Qualifications

 Required Skills and Knowledge:

  • Demonstrated competence using Epic Reporting Workbench, Radar, SlicerDicer, Analytics Catalog, registries, Crystal Reports, or equivalent reporting tools.

  • Working knowledge of UDS Mapper, Electronic Handbooks, Preliminary Reporting Environment, patient-level UDS submission workflows, and HRSA reviewer response processes.

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

  • Proficiency with Power BI or a similar reporting platform.

  • Ability to work effectively with electronic health record or practice management data.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and data-validation skills

 

Education and Experience: 

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, public health, data analytics, health informatics, business, statistics, or a related field.

  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in healthcare analytics, business intelligence, clinical reporting, or operational analysis.

  • Experience in an FQHC, community health center, ambulatory care organization, or multisite healthcare system.

Preferred:

  • Masters degree

  • Working knowledge of SQL, UDS reporting, HRSA measures, HEDIS, provider productivity, and value-based care

 

Other Requirements:

  • New Hires are required to pass pre-employment background check and drug testing (effective 11/1/2022).
