JOB SUMMARY
The Clinical Nurse Manager is responsible for operationalizing the clinical quality and compliance strategies developed by the Director of Quality. This role provides direct clinical oversight and leadership to Registered Nurses, Primary Care Coordinators, and clinical support teams, ensuring the consistent delivery of safe, evidence-based, and patient-centered care. The position requires a working understanding of how quality metrics for insurances, ACO, PCMH, and HEDIS effects workflows and daily operations. The Clinical Nurse Manager serves as the boots-on-the-ground leader for implementing quality initiatives, standardizing clinical workflows, supporting staff development across all sites and active participation in performance appraisals and improvement.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Using a working knowledge of improvement strategies, executes quality improvement projects and corrective action plans as directed by the Director of Quality
- Using change skills, engages staff in process improvement, and the on-going changes in Primary Health care.
- Conducts clinical audits, chart reviews, and real-time observations to assess compliance with QA/QI/RM standards across all work sites. Clinical workflows will be supported and staff educated in their use after promulgation.
- Lead local implementation of clinical risk mitigation strategies and emergency preparedness activities at the clinical level.
- Maintain documentation and reporting for internal committees and external regulatory bodies.
- Provide day-to-day clinical leadership and clinical supervision to Registered Nurses, Primary Care Coordinators and Lead Medical Assistants.
- Actively participates in RN, Primary Care Coordinator, and Lead Medical Assistant performance evaluations.
- Oversee the clinical performance of Lead Medical Assistants and ensure adherence to tiered competency standards.
- Coordinate training and orientation, for clinical team members.
- Ensure clinical equipment, supplies, and crash carts are maintained and operational.
- Ensure coordination efforts align with nursing standards and organizational quality goals
- Assist in the enforcement of clinical protocols, workflows, and standing orders for clinical staff across all sites.
- Actively support and assist in workflow development to mitigate impact on provider/nurse documentation.
- Support the integration of lifecycle milestone policies and preventive care measures.
- Promotes evidence-based practice and professional growth through direct and indirect education and mentoring.
- Monitor documentation, care transitions, and patient engagement strategies for consistency and effectiveness within the quality goals.
- Collaborate with community partners and internal teams to address social determinants of health through a clinical lens.
- This role involves travel to all locations

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Strong knowledge of nursing ethics, standards of care, use and development of clinical workflows.
- Possesses a working knowledge of quality improvement methodologies.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in EMR systems, Microsoft Office, and data tracking tools. Medent knowledge is a plus
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and respond to clinical issues in real time
- Experience in discharge planning or coordination
EDUCATION
Bachelor Degree in Nursing required, Masters preferred,
EXPERIENCE
Minimum 3-5 years of clinical nursing experience
CERTIFICATE/LICENSE
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
