Serves as a clinical nursing role model, facilitator, educator, leader, and consultant for staff and management. Coordinates nursing residency activities, supports staff development, maintains competency standards, and performs related duties. Requires a BSN, three years of clinical nursing experience, current Texas RN licensure, computer word-processing and presentation proficiency, and active healthcare provider BLS certification. A master’s degree, nursing education experience, and professional development certification are preferred.

Qualifications

MINIMUM EDUCATION: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
PREFERRED EDUCATION: Master’s Degree in area of specialization
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: 3 years clinical experience in nursing. Demonstrates proficiency in computer word 
processing and presentation software. Displays ongoing competence in area of expertise.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: Experience in Staff Development or Nursing Education
REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: Possesses current Texas State Nursing License
PREFERRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: Certification in Professional Staff Development and/or Clinical 
Specialty
REQUIRED COURSES/ COMPLETIONS (e.g., CPR): Must have active healthcare provider Basic Life 
Support on hire (ARC or AHA); however, must have AHA Healthcare Provider BLS within 60 days of 
hire.

Skills Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited school of nursing
