The Clinical Assistant works in our outpatient sports medicine clinic alongside our team of Doctors, Physician Assistants, and Nurse Practitioners. This role is responsible for helping prepare patients and their electronic medical records for their appointments, communicating patient injuries and conditions to providers, and assisting with physician orders.
Clinical Assistants also support providers during clinic by:
- Assisting with suture removal
- Preparing for injections
- Fitting braces and other medical equipment
- Documenting office visits and patient communications
- Scheduling surgeries and follow-up appointments
- Providing patient education in person and over the phone
Training is provided on the job, making this a great opportunity for candidates who are eager to learn and grow in a fast-paced sports medicine environment.
Schedule & Work EnvironmentThe primary focus of this position is providing excellent patient care in the clinic setting. The regular schedule is Monday through Friday, with no late nights, holidays, or weekends.
Compensation: Based on experience.
QualificationsEducation and Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent education preferred
- Licensure or Certification in one of the following types:
- Athletic Trainer: BOC certification AND State of Tennessee AT license
- Registered Nurse: State of Tennessee RN license
- Licensed Practice Nurse: State of Tennessee LPN license
- Medical Assistant: Certification or registration through an accredited national institution
- Medical assisting training preferred
- Proficiency using email and interacting with Internet applications
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to perform patient education duties
