Under the supervision of the Chief Medical Officer, the Clinic Physician provides comprehensive primary, preventive, chronic, and urgent care services to patients within an integrated multidisciplinary team.
Key ResponsibilitiesClinical Care- Provide comprehensive primary care services
- Conduct physical exams and diagnostic assessments
- Order and interpret laboratory studies
- Develop treatment plans and prescribe medications
- Educate patients and families
- Maintain timely EHR documentation
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams
- Participate in case conferences and panel management
- Coordinate care with specialists and hospitals
- Serve as a clinical resource and mentor
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives
- Support evidence-based practices
- Improve patient access and care quality
- MD or DO
- Active California medical license
- Board Certified or Board Eligible
- Current DEA registration
- Strong communication skills
- Commitment to NAHC mission
- Community Health Center/FQHC experience
- Three or more years community clinic experience
- Spanish bilingual skills
- OCHIN EPIC EHR experience
- Leadership experience
NAHC is a National Health Service Corp (NHSC) approved site where primary care physicians who are eligible for loan repayment funding can fulfill their service obligation.

Skills Required
- Licensed M.D. or D.O. in the state of California
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Practice, Internal Medicine, or other full scope Primary Care Specialty
- Current DEA license
- Minimum one (1) year experience working within a community clinic
- Ability to provide TB and physical clearance prior to start date
- CPR certification to be obtained within 90 days and maintained current
- Meets Native American Health Center credentialing requirements
- National Provider Identifier (NPI)
- BLS certification (and depending on specialty ACLS or NALS or PALS or PEARS may be required)
- Able to furnish vaccination history prior to start date as required
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Ability to work well under pressure, prioritize, analyze member needs, and make sound recommendations
- Detail oriented and able to multi-task effectively
- Previous experience working in an Electronic Health Records (EHR) environment
- Commitment to Native American Health Center's values and mission
- Knowledge of the Bay Area Native American community and commitment to serving Native Americans and other vulnerable populations
- Ability to relate and communicate effectively with community groups, agencies, and medical facilities serving the American Indian community
- Willingness to participate in Saturday clinics, after-hour clinics and on-call duties on a rotating basis
- Post-offer pre-employment physical and TB test; possible DOJ fingerprinting/criminal clearance
- Sense of humor (listed as a plus)
