ISS STOXX is looking for an Research Analyst for our Climate & Nature Analytics Team at the Mumbai - Goregaon East location.
Overview:
Climate & Nature Analytics is a unit within ISS Sustainability Solutions, the responsible investment business of ISS STOXX. As investors seek to gain a better understanding of their exposure to climate-related risks, Climate Solutions provides data, analytics, and advisory services to support investors in understanding, measuring, and acting on climate-related risks & opportunities and their impact on investments across all asset classes. ISS STOXX Sustainability Solutions is an innovative market leader within its field.
ISS STOXX Climate & Nature Analytics team is working closely with its clients to help them with pledge, plan and proceed with their Net Zero Targets and is looking for passionate team members to work extensively on different aspects of Net Zero including but not limited to – research, data interpretation, methodology development support and client support on these subjects; on day-to-day basis. The successful candidates will be part of ISS STOXX Climate & Nature Analytics team which works on a wide range of climate products and metrics for an ever-expanding investment universe.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct in-depth research and analysis of corporate disclosures, including sustainability reports, annual reports, climate transition plans, and regulatory filings, to assess companies' emissions performance, net-zero commitments, climate targets, and alignment with leading frameworks such as SBTi, TCFD, and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain and enhance climate datasets by ensuring the timely collection, quality review, and updating of net-zero targets and related climate metrics.
- Contribute to methodology development and research supporting climate and net-zero solutions.
- Support client-facing teams by providing technical expertise and responding to product, methodology, and data-related inquiries.
- Conduct qualitative research on corporate climate strategies, transition plans, and decarbonization pathways.
- Drive process improvements and operational efficiencies across research and data workflows.
- Develop and maintain documentation, knowledge resources, and research infrastructure to support product delivery.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 1-3 years of relevant work experience in climate research, sustainability, ESG analytics, environmental consulting, data analytics, or a related field.
- Knowledge about equities or financial markets terminology in general would be added advantage
- Bachelor’s degree and a relevant Master’s degree (Example: Environmental science, environmental engineering, economics, climate change studies)
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to interpret complex information, identify key insights, and draw well-supported conclusions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and a strong working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite
- Integrity, organizational skills, high attention to detail, a self-driven work ethic, and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a high-pressure, deadline-driven environment
- Excellent oral and written command of English
- Willingness to work with a highly collaborative, flexible, and innovative team across different locations
- Regular work hours with slight flexibility to collaborate with colleagues and clients in different time zones

Skills Required
- Master's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Economics, Climate Change Studies, Disaster Management, Sustainable Finance, or similar discipline.
- 1-2 years relevant work experience in data analytics, climate consulting, or climate change (applications from fresh graduates encouraged).
- In-depth knowledge of Scope 1, Scope 2, and Scope 3 emissions (audit or consulting experience).
- Very strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills and strong conceptual thinking aptitude.
- Excellent command of Excel and good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
- Integrity, organizational skills, high attention to detail, self-driven work ethic, and ability to prioritize multiple tasks under deadlines.
- Ability to conduct deep-dive research based on client needs and process requirements.
- Excellent oral and written command of English.
- Willingness to work collaboratively and flexibly with a distributed, cross-location team.
