Team & Role Overview
The Business Development Group (BDG) partners with Franklin Templeton’s Global Client Group to promote and position Templeton Global Investments (TGI) capabilities focused on a robust range of global, international, and emerging market equities while also supporting client service needs. BDG is a global team with responsibility across regions worldwide.
Position Overview
The Client Portfolio Associate is a member of the North American Client Portfolio Manager (NACPM) team within BDG. This role supports the team’s sales-related and client service activities across all distribution channels in the United States and Canada. The position will play an important role in facilitating both internal and external engagement across TGI’s global equity platform.
How You Will Add ValueCore Responsibilities
Support sales and client service activities across U.S. and Canadian distribution channels.
Develop strong knowledge of TGI strategies and vehicles to support prospecting and client relationship management.
Build relationships with the internal sales desk and select retail channels to deliver timely information and address strategy-related inquiries.
Support the internal sales consultant channel.
Strategic Responsibilities
Analyze segmentation and other datasets to identify and prioritize business opportunities.
Monitor product availability across key broker-dealer platforms to identify market opportunities.
Ability to translate portfolio holdings, characteristics, and data into actionable sales ideas.
Create and deliver timely portfolio and market updates through email and Teams.
Support product positioning and broader sales initiatives across all channels.
Teams & Collaboration
Partner with portfolio specialists, investment writing, and broader TGI teams to develop portfolio narratives, thought leadership, and client-facing collateral.
Coordinate with portfolio specialists to analyze the competitive landscape and position TGI strategies with platforms and advisors.
Collaborate with the NACPM team to identify institutional relationships and strategic opportunities across channels.
Experience, Education & Certifications
Requires a Bachelor’s degree with 5–7 years of relevant experience in international equities and retail/institutional sales.
FINRA Series 7 and 63 licenses preferred, or the ability to obtain them shortly after hire, with training provided for eligible candidates.
Progress toward the CFA designation—or an interest in pursuing it—is a plus.
Understanding of equity markets (global), investing, and portfolio management; international and emerging markets experience preferred.
Experience in sales, investments, or an analytical role is preferred.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including strong Excel skills.

Compensation Range: Franklin Templeton offers employees a competitive and valuable range of total rewards—monetary and non-monetary — designed to support their well-being and recognize their time, talents, and results. Along with base compensation, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, a 401(k) plan with a generous match, and recognition rewards.
