Full-Time | Nashua, NH

Greater Nashua Mental Health is seeking a Client Benefits Specialist to support clients and clinical teams with insurance eligibility, financial responsibility, and access to medical financial assistance programs. This role ensures accurate client financial information, helps resolve billing issues, and guides clients through State and Federal application processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess uninsured clients for State medical/financial assistance such as Medicaid and other benefits.

• Assist clients with initial and renewal applications and required documentation.

• Review client insurance coverage, calculate treatment plan costs, and secure acknowledgment of financial responsibility.

• Evaluate clients for charity care and complete documentation.

• Maintain accurate financial and insurance information in the EMR; resolve demographic and insurance errors.

• Identify billing inaccuracies and collaborate with staff to resolve client balances.

• Attend clinical team meetings to help reduce insurance lapses and ensure services are covered.

• Manage weekly insurance eligibility reports and update client coverage.

• Provide training to staff on State, Federal, and third-party insurance processes.

• Serve as a liaison between staff and insurance companies for authorizations and referrals.

• Assist with phones and front desk coverage as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required

• 1–2 years of related experience

• Knowledge of State/local agencies and available benefit programs.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Email, Word, Excel).

• Strong customer service, interpersonal, and listening skills.

• Ability to assess client needs with professionalism and objectivity.

• Financial acumen, including budgeting and personal finance understanding.

• Strong teamwork skills and ability to work independently.

• Effective written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, multitask, and use sound judgment.

Salary Range: $21.28/hour - $29.26/hour
