POSITION SPECIFICS
University Police and Public Safety is seeking a Clery Compliance Specialist to assist with all aspects of the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (Clery Act) compliance oversight University-wide. The successful candidate will work cooperatively with other units to collect data and coordinate publication and distribution of the required Annual Security Reports and Annual Fire Safety Reports for each of the University’s campuses across the commonwealth. The successful candidate will assist with:
- Development and delivery of training and monitor programs to ensure compliance
- Development and revision of policies related to compliance
- Conduct audits in response to reports of non-compliance
- Develop a report and summarize investigation findings to the Clery Compliance Interdisciplinary Team, administration, federal agencies, etc.
- Periodic updates, guidance and recommendations to the Federal/State Representatives, University President, Board of Trustees, Provost, and various senior Administrators
- Respond to the United States Department of Education, PA Auditor General, and University Internal Audit inquiries and recommendations
- Coordinate compliance processes and procedures at the Commonwealth Campuses
Comprehensive knowledge of the following is strongly desired:
- Clery Act
- Higher Education Opportunity Act (HEOA)
- Higher Education Act (HEA)
- Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA)
- Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA)
- Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA)
- Reporting obligations of PA Act 104 and PA UCR Act
- Title IX guideline
The successful candidate must demonstrate attention to detail; outstanding customer service; ability to work cooperatively with various levels of faculty, staff, students and federal/state agencies; excellent verbal and written communication skills; excel in a diverse environment; and strong computer skills to include but not limited to Microsoft Office and database inquiry are required.
This position offers a flexible work arrangement that combines remote and on-campus work. Questions related to flexible work should be directed to the hiring manager during the interview process.
A fingerprint background check will be required to work within the Police facility in addition to standard background checks. Some travel is required for this role.
MINIMUM EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE & REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree 3+ years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience accepted Required Certifications: CLEAN Certification - Pennsylvania State Police
Timeframe to obtain certification will be discussed during interview process.

The salary range for this position, including all possible grades, is $65,508.00 - $94,980.00.

Pursuant to the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act and the Pennsylvania Act of 1988, Penn State publishes a combined Annual Security and Annual Fire Safety Report (ASR). The ASR includes crime statistics and institutional policies concerning campus security, such as those concerning alcohol and drug use, crime prevention, the reporting of crimes, sexual assault, and other matters.
