As a Senior Platform Engineer at Rise8, you will: 

  • Create and implement automated configuration and deployment processes to enhance the performance, accessibility, and ease of management of the platform and its related services.
  • Establish and manage administrator and service accounts, while also maintaining accurate system documentation and effectively resolving technical issues.
  • Utilize scripting tools to craft self-service capabilities within the Platform as a Service (PaaS), fostering a seamless developer experience for development teams.
  • Collaborate closely with developers to diagnose and troubleshoot problems, ensuring smooth operations.
  • Take on the operational responsibility for the services under your team's ownership.
  • Thrive in an environment that nurtures your personal development and growth.
  • Continuously enhance the product, delivering software that resonates positively with users and meets their needs effectively.

Qualifications 

  • 5+ years of experience in software development, Kubernetes, systems programming, and Security Event and Incident Management (SEIM).
  • Experience maintaining operational environments and using monitoring tools and dashboard interfaces for SEIM Solutions.
  • Strong understanding of DevOps and software/application development processes.
  • Experience with GitOps & CI/CD pipelines and troubleshooting issues with container images and platforms (Kubernetes/Docker/Elastic/OpenShift).
  • Proficiency in Kubernetes experience: RBAC, Helm, YAML, CNI, container runtime, docker, namespaces, blue/green deployments, Elastic Cloud on Kubernetes (ECK), Custom Resource Definitions (CRDs), kubeadm, kubectl, kubelet, node labels, Deployment vs. Statefulset vs. Daemonset.
  • Experience in building processes for deploying to Kubernetes based environments using Helm and/or YAML.
  • Familiarity with AWS Services: EC2, S3, Simple Queue Service (SQS), Simple Notification Service (SNS), Networking, Security Groups, VPCs, ELBs, EIPs, etc.
  • Understanding of microservice design and architectural pattern best practices.
  • Understanding of Python, Bash, and Shell scripting.
  • Knowledge of network technologies, common infrastructure components, load balancers, firewalls, virtual and physical infrastructure design.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent time management skills and the drive to work unsupervised.
  • Experience with deploying to on-prem/data center infrastructure.
  • Experience using Jira and Confluence on a daily basis.
  • Active Secret clearance required, preferred TS/SCI Clearance.
  • Understanding of Cloud-Based SEIM solutions and access management and security groups (i.e., IAM, S3 bucket, SSH, VPN, etc.).
  • Ability to write and use unit and functional testing.

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Active Secret Security Clearance 
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting challenges using the Linux/Unix command line interface.
  • Familiarity with AKS (Azure Kubernetes Service).
  • Possession of recognized Professional Certifications such as RHCE, Linux+, MCSA, AWS Solutions Architect, AWS Developer, Security+, CISSP, and CCNA.
  • Background in DevOps automation practices.
  • Direct experience in client interaction.
  • Familiarity with Department of Defense (DoD) operations, particularly within a DoD "Software Factory" context.

Salary 

The annual salary range for this role as it is posted is $166,698 - $200,037 regardless of final candidate location within the United States. The final job level and annual salary will be determined based on the education, qualification, knowledge, skills, ability, and experience of the final candidate(s), and calibrated against relevant market data and internal team equity.
