-2:00pm to 11:00pm, Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday

-Weekends and holidays may be required based on business needs.

Nature of Work

Removes trash/debris from city receptacles and from public areas. Ensures city right-of-ways meet cleanliness standards by following established routes either on foot or by vehicle. Performs landscape work in public right-of-ways which may include planting, weeding, maintaining flower beds, and pruning of plant material and trees. Works with landscape tools and on ladders. Work is assigned by the designated crew leader and is inspected for quality and productivity.

Minimum Requirements

Ability to read, write, and follow instructions. Six (6) months of laborer experience, either in landscaping, maintenance, or construction cleanup is preferred. A valid Florida Driver’s License is required. Must meet physical and environmental demands of working outdoors in all weather conditions for most of the day; exposure to insects, chemicals, and traffic fumes; danger of working in public right-of-way; and performing demanding physical labor. Must be able to lift 50 pounds. VALID DRIVER LICENSE FROM ANY STATE MUST BE PRESENTED AT TIME OF INTERVIEW. VALID FLORIDA DRIVER LICENSE MUST BE PRESENTED WITHIN 30 DAYS OF HIRE.

THIS IS A PART_TIME_POSITION WITH NO GUARANTEE OF A CERTAIN NUMBER OF HOURS AND NO BENEFITS. THIS POSITION INVOLVES WORKING ON A TEMP/SEASONAL CONTRACT WHICH CAN BE RENEWED ANNUALLY BASED ON PERFORMANCE AND BUSINESS NEEED.

If this posting indicates a degree is required, the following experience will apply in lieu of any degree as follows:

  • Two (2) years of direct experience for an associate degree;
  • Four (4) years of direct experience for a bachelor's degree;
  • Six (6) years of direct experience for a master's degree; or
  • Nine (9) years of direct experience for a doctoral degree.

Skills Required

  • Ability to read, write, and follow instructions.
  • Valid Florida Driver's License (valid driver's license from any state must be presented at interview; Florida license required within 30 days of hire).
  • Ability to meet physical and environmental demands of outdoor work in all weather, exposure to insects, chemicals, traffic, and performing demanding physical labor.
