What you'll be doingAs a Civils Operative, you'll play a key role in supporting fibre installations by carrying out safe, high-quality civils work across our network areas.
You'll be responsible for:
- Excavation, ducting, reinstatement and blockage clearance works
- Carrying out site surveys and assessing job readiness
- Supporting installation teams and resolving on-site issues
- Reviewing job packs, plans and safe dig information before work starts
- Completing risk assessments, permits and required documentation
- Ensuring all works meet health & safety, compliance and local authority standards
- Maintaining safe, tidy sites that pass inspections
- Looking after tools, plant and equipment
- Travelling to sites and adapting to changing priorities as required
You'll ideally have:
- Experience in civils, utilities, telecoms or construction environments
- Experience with excavation, ducting and reinstatement works
- The ability to read plans and understand safe digging information
- Experience working in public highways or live road environments
- A strong safety-first mindset
- A full UK driving licence

GoFibre is a Scottish independent broadband builder and provider, bringing ultra-fast, affordable and reliable broadband to homes and businesses across Scotland and the north of England. GoFibre is the trading name for GoFibre Holdings Ltd. Founded in 2017 in the Scottish Borders town of Duns. The company secured an investment of £164 million in early 2022 from Gresham House’s Sustainable Infrastructure strategy (BSIF), to accelerate its rollout of full fibre broadband throughout Scotland and the north of England.
