Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Cisco Telephony SME to join our Nightwing IT - Networking team. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Cisco Unified Communications technologies, including CUCM, Cisco Unity, Cisco CUBE, Cisco IP handsets, analog gateways, and secure telephony endpoints such as vIPer and TSG phones. The candidate must have proven experience designing, deploying, and supporting large-scale telephony environments with 2,000 or more endpoints.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the subject matter expert for Cisco telephony platforms, including:
- Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM)
- Cisco Unity Connection
- Cisco Unified Border Element (CUBE)
- Cisco IP Phones and Handsets
- Cisco Analog Voice Gateways
- vIPer Phones and TSG-approved secure phones
- Plan, design, configure, and support Cisco VoIP infrastructure in large enterprise environments (2,000+ endpoints).
- Manage dial plans, call routing, voicemail, and secure voice features.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex telephony issues, including SIP trunking, call quality, and endpoint registration.
- Ensure secure and scalable implementation of voice services
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support network integration, QoS, and compliance with security standards.
- Maintain documentation for telephony systems, configurations, and operational procedures.
- Participate in system migrations, upgrades, and patching activities with minimal user disruption.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with Cisco Unified Communications technologies.
- Demonstrated experience supporting and maintaining large-scale deployments (2,000+ voice endpoints).
- Strong expertise in CUCM, Unity, CUBE, Cisco analog gateways, and secure telephony devices.
- Experience deploying and managing vIPer phones and TSG-certified phones in secure environments.
- Proficiency in SIP, H.323, MGCP, and analog voice protocols.
- Familiarity with VMware and virtualized UC applications.
- Cisco certifications such as CCNP Collaboration or CCIE Collaboration are highly desirable.
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with emergency services (E911) and paging
- Excellent communication, documentation, and troubleshooting skills.
- Knowledge of secure voice architecture, encryption, and crypto-enabled endpoints.
