FluentPet creates the tools and community for catalyzing two-way communication between humans and the animals we live with. Using cognitive science-based research and insights, we work with humans and their animal learners to create a new shared language to improve their lives. Our research and engagement with the community let us constantly iterate and improve the FluentPet HexTile System. This allows us to continue expanding the scope of what we understand is possible when communicating with other species.
Job Overview: We seek a dynamic and dedicated Community Forum Administrator to manage and grow community.fluent.pet, which is built on circle.so . This role involves moderating conversations, managing cohorts, organizing and facilitating events, and fostering a positive, engaging community environment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Community Management
- Grow membership and activity on community.fluent.pet
- Serve as primary point of contact for user inquiries
- Help to develop an organized, attractive, and engaging community space
- Maintain the organization, attractiveness, and engaging-ness, of the community
- Ensure timely responses to comments and consistent activity
- Monitor and assist with live events
- Send compelling, on-brand event notifications
- Identify and invite potential bootcamp attendees
2. Event Coordination
- Create and configure events on community.fluent.pet with proper notifications
- Organize recorded and live courses for consistent presentation
- Prepare and post event follow-up summaries and action items
- Collaborate with marketing team for consistent messaging
3. Forum Moderation
- Ensure respectful, productive conversations aligned with guidelines
- Address conflicts and provide fair resolutions
- Remove inappropriate content and enforce community policies
4. User Group Management
- Organize groups based on interests and skill levels
- Facilitate group discussions and activities
- Track progress and report to management
- Direct community members to appropriate groups/spaces
5. Online Education
- Administer courses, lectures, and seminars on FluentPet and animal communication
- Coordinate with guest speakers and experts
- Promote and ensure accessibility of educational content
- Ensure content adheres to brand guidelines
6. Community Engagement
- Foster an inclusive environment
- Initiate discussions, polls, and interactive activities
- Provide support and answer member questions
7. Content Curation and Creation
- Develop comprehensive, up-to-date, and visually appealing content
- Create FAQs, how-to guides, and best practices
8. Feedback and Improvement
- Collect and analyze community feedback
- Implement enhancements based on feedback and best practices
- Collaborate with product and marketing teams to align initiatives with company goals
- Document all of the above using handbooks and standard operating procedure documents
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in community management, forum moderation, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of FluentPet products and animal communication principles.
- Intermediate skill with spreadsheet software such as Google Sheets or Excel
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic visual design ability.
- Ability to handle conflicts and issues diplomatically and effectively.
- Experience with Circle.so or similar community platforms is a plus.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Experience with marketing automation tools such as Zapier
- Passion for dogs, cats, and and animal communication.

What We Do
When it comes to other minds, we’ve barely scratched the surface of what’s possible. Our tools are designed to enrich the lives of animals we know well, such as dogs and cats, while strengthening the bond they have with us, humans.
We were inspired in the fall of 2019 by speech language pathologist Christina Hunger, who showed the world that tools for communicating with non-verbal children can also work to help us communicate with dogs.
