Ornn is building the financial infrastructure for AI compute. Our price indices are live on Bloomberg Terminal. We structure and trade compute hedging instruments. And we're now building a platform that brings exchange-grade mechanics like order management, matching, scheduling, and settlement to how compute capacity gets reserved and allocated. We're a lean team in New York, backed by leading venture and strategic investors.
A company at Ornn's stage generates an enormous surface area of commitments, relationships, and operational details relative to the number of people managing them. The Chief of Staff will operate as the connective tissue across the entire organization, managing the day-to-day responsibilities of the founding team while also overseeing operational continuity for the broader company. The scope extends well beyond traditional calendar management. The right person will draft and send communications on behalf of the founders, manage relationships with external stakeholders where appropriate, ensure internal processes run without friction, and proactively surface problems that need attention before they become operational hazards. The role requires someone who can hold a large amount of context across many concurrent workstreams and exercise judgment about what matters, what can wait, and what needs escalation.
This zero-to-one operations role will build the systems that keep the company organized as the team scales.
- Draft, edit, and send communications on behalf of the founders to investors, partners, and candidates, with the tone, precision, and emotional intelligence that each audience requires.
- Oversee day-to-day operations across all employees and functions, identifying coordination gaps, process breakdowns, and friction points.
- Manage the hiring pipeline end to end: scheduling interviews, coordinating with candidates, maintaining communication throughout the process, and ensuring every touchpoint reflects the company's standards.
- Serve as the institutional memory of the organization, tracking action items, deliverables, and open loops across the founding team's workstreams so that nothing falls through the cracks.
- Act as a proxy for the founders in operational contexts where direct involvement is unnecessary, freeing leadership bandwidth for strategic and commercial priorities.
Requirements
- 1+ years of experience in a chief of staff, operations, or senior EA role at a high-growth company, or in a role that required managing complex workstreams across multiple stakeholders with minimal oversight.
- Exceptional written communication that is clear, calibrated, and indistinguishable from what the founders would send themselves.
- High emotional intelligence and interpersonal judgment.
- Ability to hold a large amount of context simultaneously across financial products, engineering, legal, hiring, and commercial workstreams.
- Comfort building processes and systems from scratch proactively.
Nice-to-Haves
- Prior experience at a fintech, financial services, or infrastructure company where operational fluency required quickly learning a technical domain.
- Experience operating as a chief of staff or right hand to a founder or C-level executive at a company with fewer than 20 people.
- Experience coordinating with legal counsel, investors, or board members on behalf of a founding team.
Ornn is at the stage where the founding team's bandwidth is the binding constraint on company velocity. Every hour spent chasing a missing document, rescheduling a call, or writing a routine follow-up is not spent closing a partnership, shipping product, or structuring a deal. This ensures that the operational layer underneath the company's strategic work is reliable and scaling alongside the team. As Ornn continues to grow, this role will define how the company runs.
Benefits include competitive salary, meaningful equity, health coverage, free meals, and additional benefits. This is a leadership role with significant strategic impact and equity upside.
Ornn is committed to building a diverse team. We evaluate candidates based on their ability to do the work, not on pedigree or background. We encourage applications from people of all backgrounds and experiences.
