About Cellular Intelligence
Cellular Intelligence (CI) is an AI-native TechBio company building a universal foundation model of cell signaling to understand, predict, and ultimately control cellular behavior, transforming biology from trial-and-error into an engineering discipline. We take a full-stack approach, generating perturbation data at over 1,000x the efficiency of conventional methods, capturing millions of time-resolved treatment combinations per experiment, and training large-scale models that generalize across contexts to enable rational protocol design for regenerative medicine, context-specific drug effect prediction, and systematic disease modeling. Our founding team includes repeat AI entrepreneur Dr. Micha Breakstone (Chorus.ai, acquired for $575M), the Head of the Fundamental AI Group at MIT, and four professors from Harvard Medical School and the University of Washington, including the Chair of Genetics at Harvard, collectively holding five National Academy memberships. Based in Boston, CI has raised over $60M to date from Khosla Ventures, CZI, SciFi VC, and AMD Ventures, and is rapidly scaling its world-class team.
Cellular Intelligence’s Core Values:
We show up - fully accountable, all-in, doing whatever it takes
We act with urgency - swift, decisive, proactive
We support one another - collaborative, helpful, empathetic
Location:
Based in Boston or Austin (preferably, exceptions can be made)
In-person time with the CEO and leadership team as needed, with flexibility to work remote when not in a high-cadence stretch
About the Role:
We are hiring a Chief of Staff who functions as the CEO’s delegate and operating partner. This person increases decision velocity, execution quality, and organizational clarity across a fast-scaling AI x Biology company. You will run the CEO operating system, drive the highest-leverage cross-functional initiatives, and own critical executive communication and fundraising execution. The goal is simple: take a large share of the CEO’s load and reliably turn it into results.
Our current Chief of Staff is transitioning into an internal operations role as we scale and will support a thoughtful handoff.
Responsibilities:
Build and run the CEO operating system: priorities, weekly planning, meeting architecture, follow-through, and decision logs
Own a portfolio of top company initiatives end-to-end: especially cross-functional work spanning science, data, and operations
Translate strategy into execution: goals, metrics, resourcing, risk management, and escalation paths that work in real life
Represent the CEO with judgment: align leaders, unblock tradeoffs, and drive outcomes with clear guardrails
Own executive communication: board cadence, investor updates, key memos, and high-stakes external messaging
Drive fundraising execution: narrative, materials, pipeline hygiene, diligence coordination, and post-meeting follow-through
Raise organizational throughput: tighten planning, accountability, and hiring and onboarding for critical roles
Qualifications:
We are looking for an outlier. A proven top performer with a track record that is hard to miss.
Off-the-charts excellence: with clear evidence (rapid progression, repeatedly trusted with the hardest problems, exceptional outcomes)
High judgment, high ownership: You make good decisions fast, and you finish what you start
Structured thinker: You can turn ambiguity into a plan, a set of priorities, and a tight operating rhythm
Elite written communication: You can draft CEO- and board-level memos, investor updates, and narratives that are crisp and persuasive
Strong executive presence and EQ: You can align scientists, operators, and investors without drama, while holding a high bar
Bias to action with high standards: You move quickly without creating chaos or rework
Discretion and integrity: Trusted with confidential investor, personnel, and strategic information
Travel-ready: Comfortable with a role that may require weekly travel, sometimes on short notice
Nice to Haves:
While not required, it’s helpful if you have at least one of these:
Deep tech, AI, or biotech experience, with the ability to learn technical concepts fast and communicate them clearly
Prior experience in a high-growth startup environment (0 to 1, 1 to 10, or fundraising-heavy stages)
Prior Chief of Staff, GM, or operations leadership experience with direct accountability for outcomes
Experience working with boards, investors, and senior executives in high-velocity settings
Benefits of the role:
A role with real leverage, trust, and scope, not a coordination job
Direct partnership with the CEO on the company’s most important decisions and execution
Significant exposure to fundraising, strategy, and operating at the leadership level
A path to expand into larger leadership roles as the company scales, based on strength and impact
Enjoy a competitive salary and benefits package
Exceptional candidates who demonstrate outstanding capabilities and potential will be considered, even if they do not meet every qualification listed.

What We Do
Cellular Intelligence is an AI-native TechBio company building the first universal virtual cell- signaling model to decode and control the complex language of cells. Using our proprietary capsule technology, we generate dynamic cellular data at over 1,000x higher efficiency than existing methods. We train large-scale predictive models on this data to design and optimize regenerative medicine protocols, predict drug responses, and model disease mechanisms. Cellular Intelligence is based in Boston and founded by leading AI entrepreneurs and world-class scientists, engineers, and operators. We are backed by over $62 million from investors like Khosla Ventures and the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative. Follow along as we accelerate breakthroughs across human health.
