We're building the missing data layer in financial markets: physical risk.
Kepler turns events in the physical world — drought, heatwaves, flooding, wildfire — into a number investors trust: asset-level, dollar-denominated, point-in-time Earnings-at-Risk, built to sit next to a Bloomberg feed on an investor's desk. We're already working with 3 of the world's top 10 asset managers (over $30 trillion AUM).
Behind that product is a company that runs on a tight operating system: quarterly OKRs, weekly cadences, a disciplined hiring process, and investors who expect a crisp update every month. Today, all of it runs through the CEO — in between customer calls, fundraising, travel, ops, product, and everything else.
That's what this role will tackle.
You'll work as an extension of the CEO.
Everyone else at Kepler builds or sells the product; you help make the company run.
This role is focused on your growth. The aim is to transition you into a longer-term, more senior role over the next 1-2 years as the company grows.
What you'll ownThis role doesn't have a lane. You're an extension of the CEO, with full access to everything he sees — inbox, calendar, meetings, context — and anything that crosses his desk is in scope.
In practice, the starting set:
The operating cadence. Quarterly OKRs, weekly leadership and standup agendas, decision logs — and the follow-through on every action item that leaves a meeting, in any part of the company.
Commercial and fundraising follow-through. The notes, actions, intros promised, and materials owed after every customer, partner, and investor conversation the CEO has. Investor updates, data rooms, board prep.
Hiring operations. We run a disciplined, reference-heavy hiring process. You'll run it end to end — scheduling, references, offers, onboarding — as the team grows.
Everything without an owner. Vendor selection, compliance calendars, office and events, the thing nobody saw coming. You drive it to done.
Your first 30 days are shadowing. Then tasks transfer to you one at a time — whatever the CEO does today that doesn't strictly require him becomes yours — until his operational load runs through you. Where the role settles is still being written; you'll have a real hand in writing it.
What we're looking forExceptionally organized.
Strong writing skills. A lot of the job is turning conversations into documents, decisions, and follow-ups.
Experience creating customer-facing materials (decks, one-pagers, etc).
2–6 years in management consulting, banking, or early-stage startup operations.
High agency, low ego. Equally willing to book a flight and to challenge a plan.
Discreet by default. You'll see everything — compensation, fundraising, customer terms — before almost anyone else.
This role is based in San Francisco, in person in our Jackson Square office Monday–Thursday. The shadowing model this role is built on doesn't work remotely.
Travel will be needed.
Importantly: you're someone we'll want to build alongside for thousands of hours.
Top-tier consulting background (Bain, BCG, McKinsey or similar).
You've worked inside a company that runs OKRs or another formal operating cadence.
Early-stage startup experience.
We'd rather hire someone very smart and very curious who can grow into the role than someone who ticks every box.
What you get$110K–$150K base + 0.3–0.6% founding-level equity.
Health-insurance reimbursement (QSEHRA) and a real commitment to grow benefits at every raise and milestone.
An awesome office space to work from in San Francisco.
The most intense founder training there is: you see every decision, every customer, and every investor — with a path to running a department, or the exec-ops function itself, as we scale.
Curiosity. Pragmatism. Transparency.

What We Do
Kepler Labs develops transparent, AI-powered physical-risk intelligence for institutional investors. Its platform identifies facilities, maps revenue exposure, and models climate and nature hazards—including heat, flooding, wildfire, wind, and water stress—at asset level. The company converts complex physical-world events into defensible, dollar-denominated financial metrics such as earnings-at-risk, helping asset managers evaluate resilience, conduct diligence, and incorporate climate risk into investment decisions.
