The Role
DEKA Research & Development, located in the heart of Manchester, NH, is seeking a highly motivated and dynamic Chief of Staff to the VP to support our leadership team in driving innovation and organizational growth. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the strategic operations of a cutting-edge technology company, where you will help manage day-to-day operations and contribute to market research initiatives. How you will make an impact as the Chief of Staff to the VP:
  • Provide tactical and administrative support in all facets of the organization, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.
  • Coordinate market research efforts to assess current industry trends and emerging opportunities that align with DEKA’s strategic goals.
  • Support business development strategies, including market analysis, client engagement, and partnership opportunities, to contribute to DEKA’s growth.
  • Calendar management and scheduling, ensuring effective time management and prioritization of key meetings and events.
  • Manage a high volume of e-mail correspondence, telephone calls, and mailings.
  • Coordinate meeting logistics, attendees, and set up any necessary provisions.
  • Work closely with DEKA Project Managers to coordinate schedules, events, media, and other operational needs.
  • Expense reporting and other administrative tasks as needed.
Skills you will need to be successful:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a Science, Business, Communications, Political Science, or a related industry.
  • 1-5 years’ experience as an Executive Assistant, Administrator, Coordinator, or in a similar role, with exposure to market research or business development functions.
  • A passion for technology and engineering, with an interest in staying informed on the latest market trends and innovations.
  • Proven experience in market research, gathering and analyzing data to drive decision-making and inform business strategies.
  • Excellent computer skills with mastery of Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Impeccable judgment and discretion, with a track record of handling confidential information with care.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, capable of collaborating across teams and communicating effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • High level of written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a complex environment and demonstrate problem-solving capabilities, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Ability to work in a deadline-driven environment, balancing multiple priorities and tasks.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Open to travel as needed.
  • Must be able to work on-site at DEKA 5 days a week and be open to receiving calls/requests during off hours.
