Ironsite is building the intelligence layer for the physical world. We design our own wearable hardware, deploy it alongside craft workers, and transform a shift's footage into a next-morning report. Our internal team and purpose-built models label the data overnight and deliver actionable insights to superintendents by 5 AM.
We are accelerating the speed, efficiency, and predictability of construction, especially for complex, mission-critical infrastructure projects, including data centers, LNG facilities, sports stadiums, hospitals, and other large-scale developments, by training AI models on egocentric construction footage and labor productivity data. We are built with a pro-worker philosophy at our core: we believe technology should empower the workforce, not replace it. We're working to give craft workers and project leaders better visibility into what's happening on-site, while creating a system where the reality of construction and the chaos of each day is finally available to the people running the project.
Ironsite is deployed across several of the largest active construction projects in the country. To date, we've captured more than 100,000 hours of construction footage across seven states, now process thousands of hours of site activity every day, and maintain a worker opt-out rate below two percent. This is enabled by a workforce-first architecture that anonymizes devices, captures no audio, and never releases raw video.
Ironsite is backed by leading investors (8VC, South Park Commons, Saga Ventures) and prominent operators across technology and construction, including Eric Schmidt, Jeff Dean, Jeff Rothschild, Mark Leslie, Scott Wu, Eric Glyman, Karim Atiyeh, Russell Kaplan, and others, alongside over a dozen construction industry operators who have joined us as partners in building this.

As Chief of Staff, you'll be a force multiplier for our CTO and operate as a direct extension of her across our hardware, software, and AI teams. You'll sit in on the hardest conversations, own the follow-through, and make sure nothing falls through the cracks between disciplines.
This isn't a pure technical role, and it isn't a pure operations role. It's the person who can walk out of a meeting with mechanical and product design engineers, then a hardware standup, then an AI review, and connect the dots none of them had time to connect. You'll be trusted with context most people don't see, and judged on whether things move faster because you're in the room.
We've assembled an incredibly diverse team that hasn't existed in construction before. This includes hardware engineers from Oculus, Fitbit, and Apple; research engineers from DeepMind, Etched, and Anduril; software engineers from Meta, NVIDIA, and Google; and construction veterans from Turner, DPR Construction, and Pacific Structures. Your job is to help that team operate at the speed the opportunity demands.
- Identify leverage areas and remove blockers before they become problems. Surface what the CTO needs to know; filter what she doesn't.
- Act as a trusted proxy for the CTO by representing her thinking in meetings she can't attend, and bringing back what matters.
- Run the operating cadence: planning, reviews, decisions, follow-ups. Make sure the right people are in the right rooms with the right context.
- Drive priorities to completion across hardware, software, and AI teams. Own the cross-functional work that has no natural owner.
- Serve as translator between disciplines, keeping hardware, software, and AI teams aligned on each other's constraints and each other's timelines.
- Take on whatever is necessary in the moment: hiring, vendor negotiations, customer escalations, technical investigations, investor meetings.
- Strong judgment and high agency. You know what matters, and you make it happen without being told.
- Enough technical fluency to hold credible conversations with senior engineers across hardware, firmware, software, and AI/ML. You don't need to write the code, but you need to follow the conversation, ask the right questions, and know when the answer you're hearing isn't quite right.
- Comfort with ambiguity and context-switching across very different problems in a single day, without losing the thread on any of them.
- The instinct to make everyone around you better and enough humility to make yourself invisible when the situation calls for it.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience at the intersection of hardware and software: wearables, robotics, IoT, cameras, or similar.
- Prior experience as a founder, Chief of Staff, founding team member, or one of the first few hires at a hardware or wearables startup.
- A technical background (CS, engineering, physics, or similar) that gives you the fluency to keep up. What matters more is the depth of judgment, not the specific degree.
Location, Compensation, & Perks
- San Francisco Bay Area (on-site)
- Base salary: $150k-$225k per year, commensurate with experience
- Meaningful early-stage team equity. The person who helps uplift our CTO should own real upside.

Final compensation is determined by experience, location, and level.
CompensationThe base pay range for this role is $150,000 – $225,000 per year.
