Description 

 
This role is designed to serve as Chief of Staff to Teneo's President of Global Strategy & Communications business, based in New York. The Chief of Staff role is intended to play a central part in supporting and growing the international Strategy & Communications business, helping to translate leadership priorities into execution, drive coordination across teams, support business development, and client delivery, and manage internal operations.  
 

Specific responsibilities include: 
 

  • Serve as a trusted advisor and thought partner to the President and executive leadership team, helping shape key business decisions. 
  • Act as an extension of the President’s office by managing information flow, synthesizing complex issues, filtering priorities, and facilitating effective communication with internal and external stakeholders. 
  • Prepare senior leaders for critical internal and external engagements as well as business development opportunities; represent the President and serve as a delegate in select meetings when appropriate. 
  • Lead cross-functional and cross-geography initiatives, projects, and priorities from scoping through execution, ensuring accountability and follow-through. 
  • Step into areas of ambiguity and ownership gaps to drive outcomes across teams and functions. 
  • Produce high-impact deliverables, including strategic plans, briefings, analyses, business cases, leadership communications, management reports, and client-facing materials. 
  • Coordinate resources, expertise, and relationships across teams, divisions, and markets to advance strategic priorities and growth initiatives. 
  • Support client engagements by contributing to strategy, driving alignment, and ensuring high-quality execution and client service. 
  • Anticipate risks, identify organizational friction points, and resolve issues before they escalate. 
  • Foster collaboration and integration across teams to strengthen relationships and improve organizational effectiveness. 
  • Build and manage relationships with key stakeholders, clients, and strategic partners to support long-term growth. 
  • Support global business development and growth initiatives  by identifying opportunities, coordinating pursuit efforts, and building internal resource capabilities.  
  • Leverage AI, automation, and workflow technologies to improve decision-making, accelerate analysis, enhance operational visibility, and scale impact. 

 

Qualifications 

  • 5+ years of experience in strategic communications, public affairs, government, corporate communications, policy, political strategy, management consulting, or a related field, with a track record of supporting senior executives and driving high-impact initiatives. 
  • Proven experience partnering with executive leadership teams and influencing senior stakeholders across complex organizations. 
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and execute cross-functional, enterprise-wide initiatives from concept through implementation, balancing multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment. 
  • Strong business acumen with a solid understanding of financial markets, corporate strategy, and organizational operations. 
  • Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation skills, with the ability to distill complex information into clear, actionable insights; advanced PowerPoint and executive-quality presentation development required. 
  • Exercises sound judgment, discretion, and diplomacy in handling sensitive and confidential matters, while building trust and credibility across a broad range of stakeholders. 
  • Thrives in high-growth, high-pressure environments and is comfortable operating in situations with ambiguity, competing priorities, and evolving business needs. 
  • Highly resourceful, proactive, and adaptable, with a bias toward action and a willingness to challenge the status quo to drive better outcomes. 
  • Embraces technology and innovation, including leveraging AI and emerging tools to improve productivity, decision-making, and business impact.

Base Salary Range  
$130,000 - $170,000 (compensation for this role will depend on several factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies, and experience that may fall outside of the range listed).

Includes annualized bonus, 401k match, healthcare coverage and a broad range of additional benefits and perks. 
 
Flexible Work Policy  
Teneo believes in in-person collaboration when possible. This role is assigned to the New York office, and the company expectation is for employees to work from the office location a minimum of three times a week.
