Provide technical direction and strategy for Next Generation systems, integrate product plans across leads, mentor senior technical staff, collaborate with internal and external partners, resolve scientific challenges, and balance long-term innovation with near-term execution.

As the Chief Engineer for the Next Generation Systems Line of Business (LOB), you will provide high-level technical direction, strategic guidance, and scientific leadership across products and systems within the organization regarding research. This is a pivotal role that will develop and integrate comprehensive product strategies while ensuring alignment with the company’s technical objectives. You are expected to collaborate with senior technical experts and external partners to address key scientific questions, resolve technical challenges, and incorporate new technologies. 

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Provides overall Next Gen technical direction and vision in collaboration with Core Lead, Functional and Program Leadership.  
  • Provides top level technical objectives and requirements for key constraints and guardrails, key milestones with dates, key dependencies, key risks and opportunities.  
  • Creates a technical integration plan across the Core Leads, and deconflicts Core Lead plans, projects and technologies.  
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive product strategy to address key scientific questions and challenges  
  • Interfaces with senior level technical partners internally and externally and serves as the ACP technical representative. 
  • Serves as a senior technical mentor and consultant for the organization.  
  • Has deep understanding of long-term technical needs while balancing immediate technical solutions with the technical team. 
Qualifications

MUST HAVES 

  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, Technology or a related field or equivalent experience and 15 years of experience in design, development, test, qualification, certification, and in-service product support in area of expertise. 
  • Deep understanding of current and future technology trends in ACP Core Technology areas and their application to future products and capabilities. 
  • Leadership in scientific research with extensive experience driving complex research and technology development. 
  •  Exceptional communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, actionable guidance for diverse audiences. Strong project management experience with the ability to balance near-term execution with long-term innovation objectives. 
  • Proven ability to influence, align, and drive decision-making across multidisciplinary teams and senior leadership.

US CITIZENSHIP REQUIREMENTS  

U.S. citizenship is required due to contractual requirements.  

The annual base salary range for this position is $178,000- $222,000. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline. Honeywell consider various factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education and training, key skills, as well as market and business considerations.
