We are currently searching for a Chief Operating Officer to be based in our corporate office in Lewisville, TX.  The right person will be an integral part of our leadership team, overseeing our portfolio of 58 full, select, and economy branded hotels and 27 Penny’s Diner free standing restaurants.

Job Responsibilities

 

  • Provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for the company’s portfolio of hotels and restaurants, ensuring alignment with company goals, brand standards, and ownership expectations.
  • Directly manage and mentor company team leaders, Vice Presidents of Operation, Regional Vice Presidents, General Managers, and other leaders, fostering accountability, professional development, and high performance across all levels.
  • Drive operational excellence by analyzing key performance metrics (Flowthrough, GOP,  guest satisfaction, labor costs) and implementing initiatives to improve profitability and efficiency.
  • Serve as the primary liaison to hotel ownership groups, delivering clear, data-driven presentations and updates on performance, capital projects, and strategic initiatives.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with ownership stakeholders, demonstrating credibility, transparency, and a solutions-oriented approach.
  • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes in collaboration with finance teams and property leadership.
  • Ensure compliance with brand standards, company policies, and all regulatory requirements across the portfolio.
  • Lead multi-property operational initiatives, including renovations, rebranding efforts, technology implementations, and process improvements.
  • Effectively prioritize and manage multiple, competing demands across a diverse portfolio, demonstrating strong organizational and decision-making skills in a fast-paced environment.
  • Partner cross-functionally with sales, marketing, revenue management, HR, and finance teams to drive overall business performance.  of company standards.

 

Key Metrics for Success

    • Financial Performance: Achieves a Green Balanced Scorecard or better across the portfolio
    • Market Performance: meet or exceed the budgeted RevPAR Index (RGI) and STR results for the hotel portfolio.  
    • Guest Experience: Guest satisfaction scores at brand average or better, with strong online reputation ratings
    • Operational Efficiency: Effective labor management, cost control, and consistent brand compliance
    • Team Leadership: High employee engagement, retention, and development of above-property leaders
    • Owner Satisfaction: Delivers clear communication, strong relationships, and meets or exceeds ownership objectives
    • Execution: Successfully leads multi-property initiatives, renovations, and operational improvements

Experience Required

  • Demonstrated success in full and select service hotel operations, with a proven ability to drive performance across multiple properties through strong operational leadership, management training, and hands-on task force support.
  • Experience leading within a regional or multi-property structure, elevating operational standards and improving overall hotel performance.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with corporate teams, property leadership, and ownership groups, with the ability to communicate effectively and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proven track record in roles requiring both strategic operational leadership and hands-on, tactical execution.
  • Extensive hotel operations experience with multi-brand exposure, including:
    • Operational leadership across rooms, food & beverage, and support departments
    • Proven track record of financial oversight, budgeting, and cost control
    • Ability to lead and grow a team via training, coaching, and leadership development
    • Experience working with multiple ownership groups
    • Free standing restaurant experience a plus

 

Education & Other

 

  • Bachelor Degree in Business or Hotel Administration highly preferred
  • Industry recognition via peer groups, awards, commendations, advanced training
