POSITION SUMMARY
How You Help:
- Upholding the standards of nursing care as established by the State of Colorado of Nursing practice, policy and procedures and all other external governing and credentialing bodies.
- The Director of Nursing directs the staff and operations of the Nursing Department at the facility; coordinates, plans, and manages nursing activities; formulates nursing program goals and objectives; manages nursing positions; evaluates staff; assists in the management of the nursing budget; maintains contacts with individuals both within and outside of the department who might impact program activities;
- Participates in recruitment and retention programs; determines the quality of nursing care; participates in performance improvement programs; collaborates with clinical instructors for educational programs
- Represents the Nursing Department in a professional manner internally and at community organizations.
- Assumes responsibility for the strategic and operational collaboration with medical staff, administration, and department leaders to identify, analyze, and trend quality issues related to overall patient care and collaborates to identify and implement successful solutions.
- Manages in partnership with Medical Staff and administrative leadership, the development of best practice standards and processes.
- Remains current on regulations and standards published by all applicable regulatory and accrediting agencies.
- Develops, maintains, and implements nursing policies and procedures that conform to current standards of nursing practice, facility philosophy, and operational policies while maintaining and ensuring compliance with state, federal, and accrediting body laws, regulations, and standards related to nursing services.
- Guides and monitors the organization’s infection control program designed to prevent the transmission of disease and infection.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited Nursing program;
- Must have a current Registered Nurse license in CO;
- Minimum of five (5) years of nursing experience and at least three (3) years of nursing experience in a behavioral healthcare setting, psychiatric preferred;
- Experience with the child/adolescent patient population;
- Preferred at least three (3) years’ experience in managerial or nursing leadership role;
- Must possess and demonstrate a high degree of leadership, organizational ability, and communication skills;
- Previous experience in managing or assisting onsite surveys from external agencies;
- Knowledgeable of applicable Colorado Department of Health and Human Resources, CMS regulations and Joint Commission standards.

Pay: $90,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year

Skills Required
