Responsibilities of the Chief Geophysicist revolve around developing and promoting the technical capabilities of the company. Talking and marketing to potential clients is an important aspect of the job.

A Commercial role working with Product Development & Sales to Project the company’s technical competence to clients, to let them know that not only can you undertake each project successfully, but you can do it better and more innovatively than their competitors. 

NB: it is essential to have extensive Seismic acquisition experience.

The Role

This is wide ranging and lead role - Mix of commercial and management of geophysics team as well as hands on design engineering.

You will have full lifecycle of seismic – acquisition, processing, interpretation at a senior level

- in the Oil and Gas sector.

You will be tasked with leading a team in London and developing their new products for Seismic Design Engineering - full life cycle of seismic from acquisition through to interpretation.

Oversee design of field tests with clients, from design to interpretation

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE:

·Understanding of the three facets of geophysics: acquisition, processing and interpretation, and the ways in which they interact and affect each other. 

·Degree in Geophysics.

·O&G

·seismic acquisition, seismic imaging and processing

·Land + transition zone, marine and seabed seismic acquisition.

·Acquisition technologies - recording systems and source technologies

Our client has an excellent attitude towards ongoing personal development, Training & Development. This is a Senior role based in London, UK.

NB: please note it is essential to have. Seismic acquisition and processing experience.

Skills Required

  • Degree in Geophysics
  • Extensive seismic acquisition experience
  • Experience across acquisition, processing and interpretation
  • Seismic imaging and processing experience
  • Experience with land, transition zone, marine and seabed seismic acquisition
  • Knowledge of acquisition technologies including recording systems and source technologies
  • Oil & Gas sector experience
  • Experience leading/managing a geophysics team and developing seismic products
  • Commercial/client engagement and marketing skills
