About the role
Job Type: Full-time
The Mission
At ROGII, we are revolutionizing the Oil & Gas industry through cutting-edge technology. We’ve moved past the "early days" and are scaling fast. As our first senior accounting hire, you will own the entire function. You are the senior technical lead who isn't "above" any task, from high-level audit prep and GAAP compliance to the nitty-gritty of monthly reconciliations. This is a high-impact, "player-coach" role for someone who loves building clean, scalable financial foundations from the ground up.
Your Focus: 80% Execution / 20% Strategy
- Own the Close: Lead the end-to-end monthly, quarterly, and year-end close process. You aren't just reviewing the books; you are ensuring they are accurate and GAAP-compliant.
- Technical Lead: Handle complex revenue recognition, equity accounting, and accruals. You are the final word on technical accounting judgment.
- Tax & Compliance Management: Tax experience is a must. Manage all corporate tax filings and compliance, ensuring we meet our obligations across all jurisdictions.
- Process Architect: Move us away from manual workflows. You will design and implement the scalable systems, controls, and policies that allow us to grow without friction.
- Audit & Diligence: Act as the primary point of contact for external auditors and lead the preparation for investor reporting and future fundraising diligence.
- Cross Functional Partner: Work directly with the Founders and Operations to ensure our financial data tells an accurate story of the business.

This Role Is NOT For You If...
- You are looking for a purely strategic CFO seat or a "manager of managers" role.
- You prefer a siloed environment with a large administrative support staff.
- You are uncomfortable being the primary "hands-on" person for day-to-day accounting.
The Profile
- Experience: 6–10 years of progressive accounting experience.
- Credentials: Strong US GAAP knowledge is non-negotiable; a CPA is highly preferred.
- Background: Previous experience in a high-growth startup or a lean corporate environment is a major plus.
- Industry: While we work in Oil & Gas, we operate like a tech company. An agile, tech-forward mindset is essential.
