Your Impact as a Charge Nurse – LVN or RNIn this role, you will:
Direct Care Teams: Provide guidance to Nurse Aides to ensure appropriate care for residents.
Administer Medications: Properly and safely administer resident medications as prescribed.
Implement Care Plans: Execute resident care plans in compliance with company policies, federal guidelines, and physician orders.
Perform Treatments: Deliver treatments as required to ensure resident health and comfort.
Transcribe Orders: Accurately and promptly transcribe physician orders.
Document Resident Care: Maintain timely and accurate documentation in resident charts and complete required nursing assessments.
Collaborate During Shift Reports: Participate in shift reports to ensure seamless communication and care continuity.
Educate Support Staff: Implement nursing policies and procedures, educating staff on the care needs of residents.
Maintain Safety Standards: Promote a safe working environment by complying with infection control and body mechanic procedures.
Address Staffing Needs: Respond to staffing shortages by arranging for replacement staff as necessary.
We’re looking for someone who:
Is a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) in good standing
Demonstrates excellent technical, assessment, and documentation skills
Possesses strong communication skills and the ability to organize workflows effectively
Responds efficiently to emergencies and pays attention to detail in all tasks

Skills Required
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) license in good standing
- Ability to safely administer medications as prescribed
- Proficient nursing assessment and timely, accurate documentation skills
- Experience directing and supervising Nurse Aides and support staff
- Ability to transcribe physician orders accurately and promptly
- Familiarity with implementing care plans, company policies, and federal guidelines
- Knowledge of infection control practices and proper body mechanics
- Ability to respond effectively to emergencies
- Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking abilities
- Dependability with consistent attendance and professional demeanor

University Rehabilitation Center is a 146-bed skilled nursing facility located in Denton, Texas. They specialize in providing comprehensive care and therapy for residents with neurological conditions, including stroke and Parkinson's, as well as orthopedic rehabilitation and specialized wound care.
