Job Summary: The Changeover Specialist in Designed Fabrics is responsible for the replacement of warp beams, size checks and the correct entry of production information into the computer system. The duties also include aiding loom operator as needed. Management may assign additional duties as needed.
Essential Functions: Will pull empty warps, replace and start up full warps according to established procedure by reading and performing written instructions. Will perform knotting station and tie-in duties as documented by reading and performing written instructions. Will restart machines performing size checks of cloth against production schedules and scan information into computers by reading and performing written instructions. Will detect defects and problems on Dornier looms to be corrected and apply correction procedures by reading and performing written procedures. Will be able to identify weaving, filler and warp end defects by reading and performing written instructions. Will apply correction procedures for weaving filler and warp defects and problems by reading and performing written instructions. Will aid tie-in personnel in job duties according to procedures by reading and performing written instructions. Will perform hour-by-hour tasks by reading and performing written instructions. Will remove and install warp beams, harnesses, drop wires and reeds by reading and performing written instructions. Will perform end of shift duties as documented by reading and performing written instructions. Will perform doffing operations on A-frames according to procedures by reading and performing written instructions. Will perform loom operator duties according to procedures by reading and performing written instructions. 
Non-Essential Functions: May perform 5S tasks as needed. May repair warp and filler breaks in yarn. May start loom and inspect woven cloth to detect and remove defects. May notify Loom Fixer (Specialty Textile) of mechanical defects. May replace defective warp yarn, repair incorrect threading of looms and monitor looms to insure that fabric and fill yarn conforms to work order posted on Loom.
Special Demands/Responsibilities: Must perform all duties in a safe manner. Must perform other departmental duties as assigned by supervisor. Must handle and move material without damage. Must be able to read a tape measure to 1/32 of an inch. Must be able to work overtime as scheduled or assigned.
Supervision Received: Will receive direct supervision from shift supervisor and or team leader.
Acceptable Education: Prefer a High School Diploma or GED. Currently assessed at an 8th grade level or higher on the Test of Adult Basic Education (TABE) exam through our Continuous Education and Development (CED) program or have an appropriate WorkKeys score based on the job profile. Wiesen Mechanical Comprehensive Test required for this position.
Certificates and Licenses Required: Will have or can obtain certification to operate forklift and refuel material handling equipment, and Lockout Tagout.
Physical Demands: Ability to push, pull, front carry, horizontal lift and floor to waist lift using correct lifting techniques. Ability to lift sedentary (occasionally), light (occasionally), medium (occasionally), heavy (occasionally), and very heavy (occasionally) materials using correct lifting procedures. Ability to exert heavy (50-110 pounds) pus force on an a-frame occasionally. Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, and flex trunk constantly. Must have 20/35 or correctable vision in each eye. Must conform to all safety procedures and wear steel-toed shoes.
