We are looking for a Central Texas Stormwater Lead – Municipal Urban Drainage in our Round Rock or Austin, TX office.


The Impact You’ll Make (Job Responsibilities)


  • Lead and Grow the Team: Manage and mentor a talented group of stormwater professionals in Central Texas, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented team culture.
  • Shape Regional Strategy: Collaborate with leadership to craft and execute a long-term strategy for the growth and development of Egis’ Stormwater Practice in Central Texas.
  • Deliver Complex Projects: Lead the design and delivery of high-impact municipal stormwater projects, including drainage master planning, flood mitigation studies, storm drainage improvements, and channel restoration initiatives.
  • Drive Business Development: Cultivate client partnerships, direct project pursuits, and guide proposals, contracts, and presentations.
  • Promote Technical Excellence: Apply advanced expertise in H&H modeling tools (e.g., HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, InfoWorks ICM) to ensure innovative project delivery that meets client needs.

The Expertise You’ll Bring (Qualifications)

  • Texas PE license and a bachelor’s or master’s degree in civil or environmental engineering.
  • 10+ years of experience delivering municipal stormwater projects, with at least 3 years of experience in a leadership or project management role.
  • Proven success working with Central Texas municipalities, especially the City of Austin.
  • Proficiency with hydrologic and hydraulic modeling tools, such as HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, and Civil 3D or MicroStation.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for effective collaboration with clients and teams.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
    • Experience managing City of Austin Watershed Protection Department (WPD) projects.
    • Expertise in FEMA floodplain modeling, floodplain mapping, and TCEQ water quality design.
    • Experience with advanced modeling software (XPSWMM, InfoWorks ICM, HEC-RAS 2D).
    • Background in channel design and stream bank stabilization.
    • Certified Floodplain Manager (CFM) designation is a strong plus.

Compensation & Pay Transparency 

At Egis, we believe transparency helps candidates make informed career decisions. As part of our commitment to an open and equitable hiring process, we've included the anticipated base salary range for this position below.

Anticipated Base Salary Range: $150,000 – $225,000 annually.
