Job Description:
PARSONS, one of the world's largest engineering/construction/construction management firms, has an immediate opening for a CEI Project Administrator / Project Engineer in the Jacksonville, Florida area.
Seeking a CEI Project Administrator / Project Engineer for Construction Engineering and Inspection (CEI) of roadway and / or bridge construction projects. Prior Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) experience highly desired, District 2 experience preferred.
EDUCATION:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
LICENSURE (FOR CEI PROJECT ENGINEER):
- Professional Engineer (PE) registered in the State of Florida
- Must obtain endorsement in the State of Florida within six (6) months if registered in another state.
EXPERIENCE:
For candidates with Engineering, Engineering Technology or Construction Management degrees:
- Two (2) years of engineering experience in roadway and/or bridge projects.
- A Master’s Degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Construction Management may be substituted for one (1) year of engineering experience.
For candidates without Engineering, Engineering Technology or Construction Management degrees:
- Eight (8) years of CEI or roadway or bridge construction experience,
- Two (2) of those years involved in relevant roadway and/or bridge projects.
QUALIFICATIONS / CERTIFICATIONS:
Qualifications / certifications for this position may be obtained within six (6) months from the date of hire provided that all other requirements for the position are met.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Administer construction contracts for roadway and / or bridge projects to ensure compliance with contract documents.
- Manage day to day operations of CEI team ensuring project management plan requirements are met.
- Direct and assign specific tasks to administrative and field staff and assist in all phases of the construction project.
- Read and interpret contract documents including plans, specifications, and shop drawings submittals.
- Ensure verification testing compliance requirements are met.
- Review and approve progress and final pay estimates.
- Prepare monthly reporting and / or other status updates as requested by the client or management.
- Coordinate progress and schedules with client and all project stakeholders.
- Receive general instructions regarding assignments, and exercise initiative and independent judgment in the solution of work problems and project issues.
