Supporting role to give care to mentally ill or emotionally disturbed patients. Mental health technicians work under the direction of supervising mental health care professionals, such as nurses, psychiatrists or medical doctors and perform duties that include coordinating mental health care services, assisting in patient assessment, monitoring and documenting care, escorting patients and identifying the personal needs of patients.
- Knowledgeable in the areas of mental health counseling, social work, psychology, and/or related human services field as they relate to outreach coordination.
- MHT Certification preferred, MHT Certification at minimum.
- At least 2 years' experience working with adults with serious emotional disturbances
- Be knowledgeable of and comply with state and federal statutes, rules, and policies that affect the target population as it relates to outreach coordination
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong ability to work well with a multimodal and multidisciplinary team consisting of psychiatrist, licensed psychotherapists, case managers, and support staff
- Ability and willingness to work closely with diverse populations, emotionally disturbed adults, and their families
- Ability to work on a flexible schedule
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
- Strong documentation skills- English required
- Able to utilize Word and Excel
- Able to demonstrate emotional maturity
- Efficient time management skills
- Must have reliable transportation and must have a valid Florida Driver's License
- Must be CPR Certified
