As a Category Manager for Mechanical Systems, you will be a subject matter expert for the team in the area of Machined Parts and machining processes. You'll also carry the responsible of developing and executing commodity strategies to enable growth, increase margin, reduce costs, and mitigate supply risks.

In this role, you will also be responsible for:

  • Developing strategies for the associated Product Lines to follow and implement.
  • Analyzing data & gaps and suggesting ways to overcome gaps - sometimes through sourcing initiatives, negotiations and/or other levers.
  • Collaborating with stakeholders Product Line, Manufacturing and Engineering on category strategies.
  • Analyzing historical category spend and key metrics (contract coverage, On-Time-Delivery, payment terms, quality, capacity, and price).
  • Consolidating Product Lines' forecasts & estimate spend for category and key suppliers.
  • Defining Critical supplier for HQ Supplier Risk review and Business Continuity Plan (BCP)
  • Assessing Category Risks (Supply, Finance, Quality, Compliance, Sustainability, Cybersecurity, Geopolitical, etc.)
  • Ensuring accurate Supplier Segmentation (Regional / Global), Categorization (C&M, MFD, OFTS, IND, LOG), and positioning (Grow, Maintain, Phase out)
  • Ensuring accurate part number categorization (as per taxonomy), supplier categorization, and single/sole source mapping.

To be successful in this role, you will:

  • Have a bachelor’s degree in a supply chain or engineering focus
  • Have demonstrated experience in category management, preferably in the area of complex Machined Parts.
  • Have previous experience developing sourcing and procurement strategies.
  • Have the expertise in the Supply Chain functions needed to collaborate with the necessary stakeholders on a technical level.
  • Have an in-depth understanding of machining processes and the related technical know-how related to complex parts.
  • Have dynamic global leadership & influence skills that inspire trust, collaboration, and operational excellence.
  • Ability to lead through influence, recommend sourcing strategies and deliver business results.
  • Have excellent interpersonal, motivational and leadership skills.
