We are seeking to fill the role of Sourcing Category Manager with a focus on IT products and services specifically. This position will be responsible for implementing our procurement sourcing strategies on a global scale, ensuring the acquisition of goods and services meets the needs of our company efficiently and cost-effectively, and for supporting the organization from locally sourced decision making to standardized solutioning. This Category Manager will accomplish these tasks by working within a small and newly formed sourcing team within Global Procurement, alongside colleagues across the company’s various business units and internal firm service teams, including finance, technology, information security, operations and vendor legal teams. The successful candidate will possess strong leadership abilities, exceptional negotiation skills, comprehensive technology sourcing knowledge and a deep understanding of global supply chain dynamics. In addition, experience working within financial, risk management, advisory and/or technology organizations is a plus.

Day-to-day responsibilities: 

  • Lead sourcing (RFP, RFI, RFQ), negotiation and contracting for technology products / services across a broad spectrum of varying scale and complexity, from tactical renewals to large strategic supplier engagements aligned with company objectives and financial goals.

  • Partner closely to build strong stakeholder relationships across seniority levels to embed procurement in Technology and Information Security team planning.

  • Develop and implement the technology category strategy. Proactively identifies and realizes cost-reduction opportunities, including rationalization and consolidation of products/services that align to evolving business strategies, monitoring market trends and industry developments to identify potential opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.

  • Strong knowledge of Technology contract terms and conditions used to negotiate agreements to secure favorable commercial terms and pricing.

  • In partnership with key stakeholders, support management of end-to-end contract lifecycle for IT vendors, including drafting, negotiation, compliance monitoring and renewal, ensuring alignment with organizational policies, risk mitigation and cost optimization.

  • Monitors key performance indicators (KPIs) to scrutinize vendor spend, performance and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Maintain accurate contract, supplier and sourcing records to support governance, compliance, reporting and renewals.

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including our business units, legal, technology, information security, privacy, finance and operations to understand their procurement requirements and drive quality assurance.

  • Support finance and tax needs with respect to sourcing strategies and payment process.

  • Support internal processes and tools for managing and forecasting technology usage.

  • Ensure compliance with governance, risk, and regulatory requirements.

 

Essential traits: 

  • 3+ years of Sourcing and Procurement experience  

  • Strong experience in technology procurement and category management, ideally with mid-size and/or large complex global organizations.

  • Proven track record of building relationships and influencing at senior levels.

  • Excellent negotiation skills and ability to obtain consensus around credible solutions.

  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions.

  • Assertive, accountable, dependable, collaborative and values-driven approach to work.

  • Comfortable leading in high levels of ambiguity within an evolving procurement function.

  • Experience with finance and procurement systems coupled with reporting tools e.g. Power BI.

  • Adaptable, resilient and maintains perspective when faced with obstacles.

  • Bachelor's degree and a minimum of three years of related experience and/or training with emphasis on Finance, Accounting, Business Management, Supply Chain or Logistics
